I'm in and out of that group these days but they're so chill compared to many of the "hair groups" and I love the fact that there's a scientist sharing evidence-based stuff re techniques and ingredients.</p> <p>I'm so happy that the textured hair I'm seeing in fashion spreads is much looser and less defined than the recent "ideal." A 90s influence that works for we lower-maintenance types. ;)&nbsp;</p> <p>My backstory is that I've worn my hair texture natural for geez, IDK...10+ years. </p> <p>As a 2B who hates using product or messing with my hair and lives in an often cold + rainy climate, I'm pretty happy with my hair these days. Happier in warm temps as my hair prefers air drying and that takes ~ 6 hours in the winter when I can stand to do it!</p> <p>When I stopped coloring my grey several years ago I didn't understand having healthier, lower-porosity hair plus fine greys + my coarser darks would mean I had to change things up once it all grew out. </p> <p>The curl-cut specialists didn't either (they deal with mostly dyed grey) and I ended up "losing" my waves last spring due to some bad product advice and lack of clarifying. [Monthly dyeing used to clarify for me!]</p> <p>So then my Hair Rehab commenced.&nbsp;</p> <p>FF to now --&nbsp;Of course this got long, sorry!&nbsp;</p> <p>Bottom line is that while I tried lots of new stuff and techniques this last go-round, "Less is More" works best as product just sits on my hair vs being soaked in and I don't care for the coated feel.</p> <p>I'm also back to using a high-quality silicone'd condish and the sky hasn't fallen. ;)</p> <p>I don't care about maximizing the wave, so My Day 2 routine = nothing or maybe smoothing a dime of conditioner over dry hair. My Day 3 = nothing, water wash, "cleansing conditioner wash" (different from co-wash) or shampoo...just depends.&nbsp;</p> <p>Whenever I used the gobs of conditioner or product(s) others did my hair was miserable! It's not always easy to remember to get the outfit pics, but they're informative, and they actually motivate me to try new outfits.</p> <p><b>Vix </b>- Thanks! I've been on the wavy hair community and they're very supportive. The best thing I have done is to only co-wash, and also to wet my hair every morning. It takes some trial and error to get a system that works. If I spent more time, I could get better curls, but I can't do more than 15 mins in the am. Also, the other best thing has been to get a good haircut based on my hairdresser's recommendation. She's a curly hair specialist. She told me to NOT do layers, which was completely counter-intuitive, but really works. How is your hair going? Are you doing the curly hair method of co-washing etc?</p> <p><b>LaPed </b>- Thanks! I love that tweedy coat. It is the perfect straight a-line and the texture really adds a lot to every outfit.</p> <p><b>Roxanna </b>- Thanks! It's hard to keep a house clean and tidy, and so I let some things go. Yes, I could wear slimmer footwear with that longer skirt. And I do that indoors, and it's ok, but it still feels too covered up when I also have to wear a sweater. Maybe a more body-con sweater. I would re-write it, but it's out there now.&nbsp; SO anyway, the brownish/green OTK boots in most of the pictures are not my sock boots, you are correct.</p> <p> The sock boots are only in photos 4, 5. The reason the sock boots were a 'fail' is because I didn't end up wearing them in yesterday's outfit (last two photos). My daughter is a teen and I refuse to clean up her room for her so that’s why you’ll see some messes. (My house is always a little messy too, just FYI.)</p> <p>I felt uncomfortable all day in 9. This skirt does look good with bare legs and shorter top layers, so it’ll be a summer-only skirt.</p> <p>I felt great in short skirts and tights, so that’ll be my go-to winter look.</p> <p>Hate wearing my parka :-)</p> <p>Still adore my pea coat. Major snazz factor.</p> <p>Loving my Levi’s high rise jeans! Unless I find some sort of winter-boot-sock-boot, they’ll be spring/summer-only pants though. </p> <p>The first outfit was a zara experiment. I didn’t think this was “me”. </p> <p>Also experimenting with wavy hair. I’m still not convinced this looks better than a ponytail, but I’m working with it for now.</p> <p>Thanks for looking! </p>
