Thank you, everyone!</p> <p>Parsley, hello my oversize sweater twinsperation! &nbsp;Even though the sweater was already in the bag when I saw yours, having company posting a new-to-me trend is always fun and inspiring! With the jeans, I don't normally ever wear low rises either. However, these were sooooo cheap (I think I paid $20 for them) and so much better than everything else I tried that they were worth bending my low-rise preference for. And they work really well for a faux tuck. &nbsp;And they come in Talls. &nbsp;I'd just say this: keep these in the back of your mind just in case your search becomes frustratingly extended and unsuccessful. I would never ever have thought I would like these jeans and I bought them because nothing else was working. I figured I would just try them and return them.&nbsp;&nbsp;Funny how that works. With that said, though, I think retailers are <i>finally&nbsp;</i>stocking faded jeans without insane distressing, so maybe you'll have a lot more options than I did!! &nbsp;</p> <p>Aquamarine, yes! Greyscale or gryffin -- can't remember -- recently mentioned this and a lightbulb also went off for me. I have a relatively long rise, (and slightly short legs) and I always thought I needed a high rise because elf my long rise. Makes sense, right? Well...it turns out I do best with either a true medium rise or a LOW rise, even quite low. Who'd a thunk it? It does have to fit "just so" if it is low rise, however...and there are petty annoyances involved. I often tuck tops, so I am not at all worried about coverage in the rear area -- and there never seems to be any indecency in that department anyway. But I have to make sure it is high enough to sit or my hip bones at least -- if if falls below the hip bone, forget it. (And believe it or not, I once had a pair of jeans that sat that low.) Anyway -- anywhere from 7.5 to 8.5 seems to be the sweet spot. Higher, and mmm....maybe. Lower and...forget it.&nbsp;</p> <p>I am going to check these AE jeans out, sized up appropriately . I had just bought a new sweater waaay upsized too to get the slouchy fit I was after, so I promised I would wear it and post it.&nbsp;</p> <p>Here's my slouchy sweater. &nbsp;Black doesn't photograph well, so I included two super overexposed closeups so that you could see the fit a little better (I hope). &nbsp;It is roomy enough to fold and drape. &nbsp;I think it works because the sleeves remain relatively fitted and I can add a little shaping and draping with the faux tuck. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>I added my silver belt, light blue jeans and handmade booties to give it a little tougher edge because I thought the cowl/off-shoulder neckline ran the risk of being too sweet. &nbsp;Did it work? &nbsp;Any other suggestions? &nbsp;I'm always in search of the killer tweak, so bring the ideas on!&nbsp;</p> <p>Sweater: Ann Taylor, sized up two sizes. &nbsp;<br />Jeans: American Eagle.
