Shiny have you tried training the boots to slouch by putting something over the opening and rubber banding or tying them in the squash position and leaving for a while?

Adorable black dress, jeans jacket and boots! You look like you're having a great time, too. Hey, maybe you can stretch out the smaller boot with the gizmo that stretches shoes!

Great outfit and a pair of comfortable slouchy boots should be on your list. Agree that a more streamlined casual bag with be more in line with the vibe here, but you look great.

Ah, I love the boots with the shorter hemline, just as you said. Too bad they are not comfy and are not cooperating to stay scrunched. I agree that a comfy boot that slouches correctly would be a great buy so that you can recreate this fab outfit.

Refer to this thread -- I wanted to try the slouchy boots again...
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ter-donate

Occasion: slouching around the city, on gorgeous 73 degree Sunday, dinner, people watching, window shopping, walking on cobblestones, just generally hanging out and about, urban style. We didn't get out the door until late but it was still quite warm, but quickly cooled down as the day progressed, so jacket was definitely needed and boots were not too hot.

My critique -- but I really want to hear yours!

1) I like the boots better with the shorter hemline of this dress. To my eye, the proportions work better.

2) I also like the contrast here a lot better, than the other outfit. The bag that is providing the contrast was xmas gift from my mom. It converts to a cross body bag, but the straps are long so the bag ends up thwapping my thigh. I did wind up wearing it cross-body today, but x-style is not my preference (good on the back but I feel strangled w/girls too divided and clothes get creases).

3) I'm not crazy about the giant bow on this bag, but I do like the color, and more importantly, I like the slouchy casual effect, and the scale (not too big but also not too small either).

4) I have a major HOLE in my wardrobe: I need a light color, go-with-everything, slouchy uber casual bag. Preferably with neutral hardware (not silver/not gold).

5) I tried slouching the boots more. They slouched to just-right height, but then within 10 minutes, popped right back up again. I think my calves just aren't wide enough to keep them slouched. In the pic, they are slouched.

6) Also, and even more importantly: despite wearing socks I got a blister on back of my heel, just one foot and not the other. It is my larger foot. There's a place that rubs funny, and moleskin is not going to solve it. The left boot is just a tad too small. And the blister reminded me why I have not worn these enough!!! So, I think ultimately I need to consign these away. But I am thinking there is room in my closet for a boot/bootie that serves similar purpose here.....
