The sweater and tank dresses for the win for how much you love them and their usefulness. I like all the outfits. Too bad the top is becoming such an annoyance, because I like it.

Very impressed with your posting of the weather with your WIW daily pics! I also like that ochre sweater which you wear well however, I couldn't wear such a pretty warm color. I'm on team cool when it comes to color selections.

Thanks, y'all, especially for all the migraine sympathy. I am lucky to only get them 6 or 8 times a year. I feel for those who struggle on a more regular basis.

Fashintern and LaPedestrienne, I wore the black dress again today and popped the embroidered top over to see how it would look. I'm not a fan. The length is awkward and the v-neck looks odd separated. I think it's about time to just let this one go, as the embroidery is also starting to a fray a bit.

Windchime, the new sweater seriously feels like wearing a blanket, so I'm glad it works with multiple outfits.

Sal, I thought it was important to be paying attention to the hearings, and am glad I did, though, I admit, I did drift in and out through a lot of it. It still felt like one of those defining news moments in American. I can only remember a few similar ones in my lifetime.

FWIW, 12-20 times a year is about what I get, too, which makes sense, since our wardrobes aren't radically different in size.

Joy, it was so chilly yesterday! The Closetspace temp shown there is definitely not right. Our high that day was 50. And, of course, today was warm again. We're in the crazy season.

Sleep does help me, but It takes a while, because I have a hard time holding down meds at the start. Once I'm able to keep some ibuprofen and caffeine in me, it usually goes away after a nap. My husband gets visual-only migraines, whereas I don't have the auras at all.

JAileen, your routine sounds a lot like mine! I usually listen to NPR through the day, and don't turn on the TV until evening. I put on CNN Thursday, though, because it felt like one of those moments.

JenniNZ, you know, I needed that. You're absolutely right. The awareness is the thing. The last two pieces I got rid of had 29 and 39 wears, respectively. And I'm about to pass on two pairs of shoes with 135 and 211 wears, so my average is pretty good! And, come to think of it, this top was one of the pieces I took with me a few years ago when my mom was sick and I wasn't really tracking for a while, so it may have a few more wears than I'm giving credit for.

shevia, thank you! I am loving the combo of that long dress with the cowboy boots and chunky sweater. Will definitely repeat.

karen13, I'm glad you found a medication that works for you! I am lucky to have only 6-8 episodes a year. I have friends who suffer many more, and know it can be debilitating. My biggest triggers are leftover and processed meats, alcohol, hormone cycles and weather. I can manage the first three, but the last two are out of my control!

So sorry you were under the weather - migraines are the worst. Everyone has different triggers and each med works differently. My best luck was with Maxalt.

At least you looked great. That sweater has turned out to be a winner. And I really l8ke the black dress..I love the weather you love - we are starting to get some crisp fall in Sierras too. My cashmere sweaters need to come out..

You look great. I have a comment on the 26 wears, because you sound like me, getting a bit OCD about reaching 30. ( I do actually have some OCD, it is not too bad but partly because I take half a citalopram antidepressant/anti anxiety med every morning even though well). I'm not suggesting you have actual OCD. But really, the #30 wears as propounded by Livia Firth and colleagues is as an antidote to fast fashion that mightn't last, and to churn, isn't it? It's about being more mindful about what we buy. And with varying quality, and also that we can still make mistakes ( I am looking at anything of mine bought before Jan 2017 when I joined YLF as more likely to have been a mistake, of course not necessarily), then some items won't make 30.
We are in a bit of a different situation as my wardrobe numbers are much higher than yours and I am trying to reduce them so everything will fit in our new walk-in wardrobe. I have removed 2 2016 items that only had 10 wears each. One was a polyester top I hated the feel of the fabric of and eventually decided was an online mistake that the pretty pink colour didn't make up for. The other was a red/black tank I just didn't end up liking- bought at Designer Garage Sale at NZ Fashion Week with sales goggles on. Chalk those up to experience.
So IF you need permission to remove this at 26 wears, you have mine

There’s that sweater I love! It looks great on you. Your outfits are cool and interesting. Boots already?! We’ve had pretty low temps, but every day has warmed up. Yesterday it was 91.

Thursday would have been miserable with or without a migraine. I had to turn off NPR and I watched a movie on Netflix. And I never turn on the TV during the day.

Jenn, I envy you your wardrobe. Sitting here freezing this evening, I turned on the fireplace. Just seeing the fire makes me feel warmer. Time to get out socks .
My best friend has that EF dress in black and wears it at least 3 times a week for her job assisting a lawyer. I think she is on her third one. She washes it in the machine and accessorizes it different ways. She says no one has ever asked her why she wears the same dress. I have one too but do not get as many opportunities to wear it. It is my go-to funeral dress.
I hope that you are feeling better. Does getting sleep help? DS1 gets the male version of migraines...cluster headaches...when he does not get enough sleep.

You look great Jenn and sorry to hear you did not feel so great.....I am not sure the Kavanaugh hearing would be my choice of listening material with a migraine though? Although I am very interested.....

The new dress and cardigan are perfect for your closet.

Re the embroidered blouse - I am not sure. You could change the buttons but it might not be worth it - I would probably store away and see how I felt next spring?

With the Sept tracking I did realise how many/most of my clothes (not shoes or bags or gym wear) is only worn 1-2 times per month. I was not deliberately restricting myself so I could have eliminated about 10 pieces across all categories relatively easily and not had trouble - however based on this month which is not atypical - many of my clothes will only be worn 12-20 times a year...

New ochre cardi is getting put through its paces I see! Looks like it fits in pretty seamlessly. Your Thursday sounds truly miserable, and I hope you're feeling better. I play the same "how long can I go without turning the heat on?" game, but I've already caved. No 80s in sight for us, and we just had a long spell of cold rainy days with no sun to warm up the house. Like Fashintern, I was wondering if the embroidered top could function as an open topper...

Nice sweater! It’s a great color and works equally well with jeans and your new E.F. dress.

I think changing the buttons on the top in #3 is the equivalent of at least 4 wears! :)

Sorry about the migraine; how awful.

Looking great all around #4 is my favorite. Cool dress--I bet you *could* style it differently every day. Pity about the top in #3. Can you wear it open as a jacket over the new dress, or is it too fitted/the dress too loose? And listening to the Kavenaugh "hearing" sounds like the recipe to prolong a migraine!

Finally! Even though we're still having some hot afternoons, it felt like fall this week. We had a few days of what I'd consider "perfect" weather for Colorado, with lows in the 40s and brief afternoon highs in the 70s. My favorite.

Lots of repeats and lots of new items coming into rotation this week. I'm still loving the yellow sweater. Also, I went into Eileen Fisher a few weeks ago to recycle some pieces, and tried on her "System" tank dress. They didn't have my size in black, so I had them ship it to me. I LOVE it. I'd wear it every day if I could. Finally, I picked up a pair of classic black Converse high tops. I haven't worn the high top style since college, but I'm feeling it now. I tried on white too, but they just didn't work for me.

A few comments on the outfits:

Lots of the new sweater. It was perfect for cool mornings.

I think I might be about done with the embroidered top in #3. This is an example of a "10" that degraded with wear. The buttons on it are very small and the the button holes seem to have stretched, so that they pop open when my crossbody strap or seatbelt rub against them. I've already sewed the holes smaller once, and I'm kind of of over it. Right now, the top is at 26 wears. Can I handle four more or is it close enough?

I had a migraine on Thursday. Literally spent most of the day on the couch with a blanket over my head and the Kavanaugh hearing on in the background. I still got dressed, because I had to drive the kiddo to school, and I had a burst of energy when it finally passed around 3.

Today was COLD. I refuse to turn on the heat because it's going to be 88° tomorrow, but that meant I had to get the cashmere out.

Happiness factor was pretty high all-around, except for #3, for the reasons mentioned above.
