Thanks, Shannon! So happy I invested in this dress because it feels like a nightie, yet I feel pulled together. It is also like a blank sheet so I could go casual, dressy or smart casual

That sounds reasonable - they are a good placeholder shoe, and a good trial run for coloured shoes.

Thank you Ceit, Diane, Suz and Deborah!

Ceit - room is no problem. I have purged a lot of shoes and are now really thinking of the purpose of new additions. Pre YLF I always ended up with 5 pairs of the same - lol ;-)

Diane, Suz and Deborah - I'm not used to wearing shoes with vibrant colours, so this is new territory. These sandals could however be my testing pair and I'd probably wear them on occations I know I'm not walking forever

Oh my Harmonica - I LOVE this dress! It is so flattering on you. The pop of red on your pretty feet is beautiful with the neutral dress.

I do have shoes and sandals that are not comfy all-day walking shoes. On days at work when I know I won't be running around and will be at my desk most of the day, I can wear a less comfortable shoe. That being said, I'm becoming more and more picky about having happy feet so will not be purchasing anymore shoes that don't work all day.

Harmonica, I love this dress on you. It's gorgeous and such a flattering cut for you. The sandals are very cool and a great colour. I only really have one pair of shoes that I can't do a full day in, so keep the sandals as long as you are sure they wil get some wear:). Comfort has become all important and I have a low threshold for shoes that are not comfy.

How great to see this dress in action. It's a gorgeous style. I love it on you. I also love the sandals. Sorry to hear they are not all day shoes. They look fabulous with the dress.

I do keep some shoes that aren't all day shoes, yes...but only under certain circumstances. For instance, I keep them if I know I wouldn't be wearing them all day, ever -- lots of dressier styles are like this. They're primarily for evening anyway, in my world, or for short engagements.

Or if I know I'd be sitting in them much of the time, that's another possibility.

Finally, some just take a while to break in, and for me, this seems particularly true of sandals. Once I get used to them and the leather softens a bit, they always seem much better.

I think the dress is fab and so are the sandals. The red adds a lovely pop of colour so if can still wear the sandals for a good while then I say keep them.

Cute dress! I say keep the sandals if you have the room. They look nice with the dress!

The dress is new and it is first time wearing the sandals.

Do you keep shoes that are not all-day walking shoes? I got the red sandals from a friend and they turn out a little stiff. The sole is not as "cushined" and soft as I expected. They also rub a bit, but that is an easy fix. They are good for some hours and I don't get tired like in high heels, so they are pretty ok, but not good for all-day walking. How do they look with the dress? Keep?

I realize that I need a white topper - preferably a blazer, but a white denim might be ok too.

The dress is shortened pretty much in the shoulders. You can see that the front neckline on the model is lower than on me. I don't mind though. The low-cut back is also not as low as on the model and I'm very happy with that (I feel uncomfortable with a lower cut back. Just a thing I have)

- striped seersucker dress
- linnen cardi
- patent red sandals
- green bag
- golden nail polish on toes (a bit too metallic, though)

ETA: Are proportions right? The waist band on the dress is hitting slightly higher than my real waist. Does the top part look too short?
