The city has sponsored art murals to revive the area.&nbsp; Afterwards we went to a wonderful thrift shop called Out of the Closet that offers free AIDS testing and healthcare. I wore the linen white blouse I thrifted in Rome (picture #7 out of order) with the olive khakis that I brought on the trip. Note - my footwear is only vaguely meant to be trendy. It is mostly to save my other shoes from the rain!</p> <p>#1 Me in Out of the Closet<br />#2 Vanity shot of me in the Wynwood Diner because my eyes rarely look green in photos. (The straw is bio-degradable. I could write an essay on the new cultural significance of straws, but don't worry, I won't .)<br />In New York I managed to take off on my traditional day of second hand shopping. The first thing I found in the Goodwill was this Eileen Fisher dress - put to use very quickly for a family trip to the Met. I visited the Costume Institute's Camp exhibit, which I found very interesting.<br />#3 Bad shot of me, but wonderful look at the windows near the Temple of Dendur.<br />#4 Better look at me - Vince shoes were inspired by Brooklyn and bought on Ebay.<br />#5 Marimekko dress found at the Buffalo Exchange worn to see Book of Mormon. Love the print, love the colors, but I do look rather like a spotted brick. Might get it tailored somehow. I didn't want to wear these shoes, but again - rain in the forecast.<br />#6 Family gathering - not the best picture but wearing new Dries Van Noten top I found at Beacon's Closet. Love the print, neckline is tricky.</p> <p>I have a few more items and thoughts, but I am still in recovery and anyway this post is too long already!
