Great lessons (and outfits) Joy. I especially like point 4 about how tweaks individualize the outfit.

Great outfit, Joy! I like the light outfit with the dark topper and red bag. Thanks for sharing your lessons from the ROG experiment. It sounds like a useful tool, especially if you use your imagination, as you have done!

Thank you, Michelle, Deb, and approprio. My wardrobe could be better stocked or rather, stocked with better quality, but it is a work in progress.
There will be some K/R posts this coming week.

It's a testament to your well-stocked and versatile wardrobe that you were able to pull this off while still looking as glamorous as ever. Nicely done!

Aha! Thanks Joy. I had seen that post but must admit it had completely slipped my mind. What a fun idea! Reminds me of opening scenes from Clueless, which was a pop culture touchstone for girls who were teens in the 90s. :)

Michelle, check Angie's blog post for April 1st. ROG stands for Random Outfit Generator and it now can be found by going to Finds and it's a button on the right side. It will generate an outfit from all finds, or you can change it to your own finds. You can even have it pretend that you are another member. My pad won't let me add the link but maybe someone else can, or I will add it later from my desktop.
I tried adding as many similar items in my wardrobe as I could from Finds. I think this worked for me because, other than stripes, checks, and dots, I haven't been able to add many patterned items. This resulted in more cohesive outfits than lots of patterns might.

Seems llike a new YLF achronym has surfaced in my absence! Forgive my ignorance, but I haven't been able to figure out what ROG stands for. Enlighten me? :)
Your reply

Here is today's ROG outfit. Jeans are a sort of substitute for the finds...still pale grey but heavier for the cool weather. My blush tee is from Target, old black knit Bomber, red Kate Spade bag, and Calvin Klein flats.
I will post in sections to keep from losing it all.
This week with ROG I learned that:
1: it really would be great to have all my clothes in one closet or available all year, or at least at these transitional times. ROG picks from many capsules...casual, dressy, and different seasons. For this excercise I tried to stay true to the picks, but substitutions could be made while still staying close to the inspiration, such as the jeans today. A long sleeved tee could be subbed for short or sleeveless, etc.
2. ROG is a valuable tool for figuring out how to integrate a new piece into your wardrobe. I found new ideas for wearing the long bone EF vest.
3: I am encouraged to use more of my things, especially footwear and bags.
4: using ROG, there are still a lot of style choices: to tuck, button, roll, or scrunch or not; accessories like jewelry, scarves, specs, hats, tights to name a few.
5: Using ROG will test your comfort zones.
