But now I'm off brown and back into navy. Black is always fine in a print for me, but I avoid the head-to-toe black as much as head-to-toe brown. </p> <p>@Shannon, I agree it might have something to do with going grey. Brown is not as flattering on me as it once was, even though there is brown in my hair. You look great and still completely pulled together. I used to wear a ton of brown but when my hair started to go grey, it just didn't look as good anymore. Now I only have a few pieces and I always have to make sure I have another bright colour in the mix to keep the outfit feeling good on, you know? This is certainly a better 2 minute outfit than I would have grabbed 2 years ago. I think maybe because I also have brown hair, it just becomes overwhelming, like oatmeal on a fair skinned person? I like the idea of adding white, thanks! I have recently purged all my brown down to only one of each item - pant, skirt, shorts, tank, long sleeve, and jacket (that's really a purple brown tweed). I mean, brush your teeth, pull the hair back in a ponytail and GO. This is what I tossed on. But in the rush this morning, the flat sandals and brown cords shorts came out. No doubt because the cords have stretch while the cargos don't, and the flat sandals are quick and easy compared to lacing up 3" heeled wedges.<br /> At any rate, when I snapped a pic, I felt very meh about the whole ensemble. It had elements of my rubric, even in such a rushed state. But what I realized was off was the color scheme. Brown simply does not do it for me anymore. I've gradually gone back to black after more than a decade of shying away from it. But today was the first time that I actively did not like the brown. To the point of deciding if I should donate my sandals to my mom!! This isn't to say every brown item must go, but no more overwhelmingly brown tones head to toe for me! I'll pull out the army green shorts next time :)<br /> Just felt like sharing today lol. Thanks for looking and reading along! </p>
