The custom made clothing is definitely worth the investment. It fits you beautifully. I like your tops tucked in. Much more flattering. I like #3 and #4 the best.

Wow, you make me want to have all my clothing tailor made:) #3 and #4 are fantastic. The clothing in these two photos fits you to perfection. If you don't mind me saying #3 and #4 absolutely flatter your beautiful figure. #1 doesn't really highlight or flatter your shape.I have been reluctant in the past to tuck because I have a tummy but truly I find that the with the right proportions and right fit my tummy just isn't an issue. The tuck accentuates your lovely long legs. You You are also standing tall and confident in these outfits. I think it is definitely worth the investment to continue tailoring your clothing. I am wondering how this is translating into your casual non work wardrobe?

The trousers in #3 are sensational on you,. WOW, so elegant and retro 40s fab. And the tailor made skirt and jacket are also lovely. Fit makes a tremendous difference. What a smart idea to do this for your workwear.

I agree with Beth Ann -- you can leave tops untucked if they are a fit and flare style -- just not a loose shapeless kind of top. But tucking works brilliantly here. I also agree with Beth Ann that a printed jacket could be a fabulous statement item for you. You have the presence and colouring to carry it off. I like the tweedy one you have shown but to me that will read as a false plain. I think a more dramatic print could make a huge impact. You would not wear it as often but you would get so much pleasure from the times you did.

Wow. I am so jealous that you found such a wonderful tailor. Your outfits are glamorous (yes, even though they are workwear). It all comes down to the excellent fit. You can literally see it in the pictures.

I want to comment on your stance as well. I never know how to stand in a photograph and I always come off as .... well, weird. You look strong, confident, and capable. I'll bet you carry yourself really well in real life.

I like 3 and 4 the best. You look great. I would like to see the jacket and top in no 1 with the pants in no 3 (they look a better length and a nicer shape than the pants in no 1) with black shoes and a long pendant. The pink jacket is definitely a keeper.

Oh, the pieces you had tailor-made are perfection. I think the skirt and jacket silhouette is great on you. And the pants you had made in #3 look nice and fluid. I like the look of these work looks and you could build on them by changing collar shapes and fabrics. I like Beth Ann's idea for a patterned fabric. Maybe a printed linen blend? The shape of jacket in #4 would lend itself well to the fluid pants.

You have a fairy godmother making your clothes, Cinderella!

Your fits are great, and the patterns are working super well for you. No need to always leave a top untucked! Structured waist definition, with a semi tuck or a soft blousing (like you're doing in #3) works beautifully.

Do you have any patterned jackets? I could see one in your wardrobe, particularly for Spring/Summer!

Thanks for your ideas... actually those light shoes are not keepers either if I compare them to others...

Helen I think the skirts are my new uniform... I have 4 now compared to 0 before
Lyn yes I love the black grey blue colour range and my pinks are my pop of sunrise... I just received samples of new fabrics and I will get winter white jacket next. It is so hard to get a lovely quality silver grey which I am after... that is good advice to get them next
Rachylou I fluked this lady at the fabric store. And she had been a pattern maker for a swanky local designer so I have been happy with her.

Very cool. Where/how did you find your tailor? Number 1 is interesting to me. I think with shoe to match the pants, you'd have an outfit that's as sharp as the others... Or almost, because nothing beats custom...

Wow, the tailor made things are really beautifull! My faves are the last 2 outfits, WOW, WOW! It seems like the bl&blue&silver grey(?) scheme suits your person to a tee! Think you have to be tired of that fuchsia jacket, but I love nr 2 as well and think nr 1 would still work with a pair of dark shoes:-).
For next, I would let tailor made me another jacket (say in grey or off white) and would buy some more patterned tops to go with any of the jackets (including the fuchsia) if you will keep it.

2 and 3 are my favourites. Your pink jacket is a great shape, fits perfectly! I can't see the details so well for the black jacket.
I do like the pants and tucked in top, is the top metallic?
I'm also a fan of the work "uniform", as it really makes mornings easier.
Having clothes made-to-measure looks like a great option. Enjoy them!

I am itching to do Janet's item by item purge this weekend and in the meantime was scanning through the few times I photograph my wiw's. What an insight... the first 2 pics (excuse the sneer) are of the same outfits but one with pants and one skirt. I have worn combo 1 uniform for about 5 years. Pic 2 is my first skirt I had tailormade and thinks it is a vast improvement on the pants. Pic 3 a few weeks later has pants tailormade (copy of pants in pic 1 in better fabric) and tucking in the top. Again, can't believe the difference after years of pulling down longer tops to cover the weight gain tummy. Pic 4 is a tailormade jacket (copy of jacket in pic 1) and a skirt. I would value any insight and advice on the next steps in the journey... thank you!
