<p>Gosh, you look absolutely dreamy &lt;3 I adore your romantic-tomboy look. It's absolutely perfect on you. That blouse...le, sigh!</p>
<div><br /></div><div>I prefer the blouse tucked, as well. It keep the line and flow going. And your jewelry is gorgeous and perfectly scaled and paired with this outfit.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>xoxoxo</div></p>

<p><div>Thanks Sarah! I surprised myself by liking it tucked too, and usually I'm a non-tucker. I'm glad the shoes work too, since that's always the most difficult part of my look!</div><div><br /></div><div>MG, LOL @ tossing hoops! I like the idea of unbuttoning it a bit if wearing it untucked, thanks. I have several plain-ish midi skirts, so I'll give that a go. I don't think the weather will let me wear shorts &amp; hiking boots, at least not for awhile yet.</div><div><br /></div><div>Suz, oddly enough the tucking didn't seem to affect how I felt in the heat. Maybe because the blouse is already form fitting so doesn't catch the breezes the same way one of my boxy ones does? Or maybe because these are magic trousers, lol.</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks Columbine!</div><div><br /></div><div>Diana, your outfit sounds great &amp; definitely similar! Thnx for the tucking &amp; jewelry advice.</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Angie! It's funny how Thistle does match my style, although it definitely wasn't the reason I chose her. I actually don't have a pair of cut off jeans (I only have 2 pairs of denim jeans)! I have a full-length pair that's straight legged enough I could probably cuff them to capri length: when the weather cools off I'll give that a go.</div><div><br /></div><div>Thnx Sara!</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Ceit! Tucked &amp; untucked seem to be running neck &amp; neck, as Angie would say on one of her team posts. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Aubergine, I'll definitely try pairing this blouse with the grey skirt from the other day: since it's fitted it should be easy to tuck into skirts. And I will try it brooch free next time. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Shevia!</div><div><br /></div><div>Alana, you are help, because that means I can just decide whether I feel like wearing it tucked or untucked. And thanks so much for the style compliment!</div><div><br /></div><div>Columbine, I'll definitely do the skirt outfit!</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Jackie. :D</div><div><br /></div><div>Lisa, thanks for the detailed feedback &amp; compliments. The blouse is Bebe, but I agree that it has an Anthro feel to it (I'm always excited when I come across Anthro tops while thrifting). That's an interesting idea that an item can be so sweet it becomes a classic! I'll have to mull over that. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Awww: thank you Jeanie. If I learn to secret for wandering into books at will, I will certainly share it with you. And I hope the hair-up trick works for you! I think it depends on the size of the collar, but this one is so big that with my hair down I looked like I had no neck. Of course, if I'd unbuttoned it a couple buttons, that wouldn't be an issue any more, but I enjoy the buttoned up look, so I try to make it work even though my neck was definitely not made for it. hehe</div><div><br /></div><div>Alasse, the earrings are jade &amp; were a gift from my dad from one of his work trips to Korea when I was in high school. Thnx for the feedback re: tucking/untucking and the figure compliment. Your puffed sleeve pintucked blouse always looks beautiful!</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks Neel! The bangles were a gift from my dad: they metal is actually melted down shell casings (they were made in the Balkans), which I thought was a poignant way of making lemonades from lemons.</div><div><br /></div><div>Aww, thank you LBD! You're too kind. :D</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks RachyLou! When I was younger, my dad went on occasional international work trips and would often bring home a jewelry gift, so I'm lucky he has such good taste. And your waif expertise is always appreciated. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you TexStyle: that's a good point that untucked makes it a bit more casual!</div><div><br /></div><div>TorontoGirl, thank you. Opinions seem evenly divided on the tucking/untucking, which is interesting!</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks Viva, fellow gamine. ;)</div>

<p>Love this whole outfit and your jewelry AND your photography. I like both versions but prefer the tuck so that we can see the waistband of the pant, and I think it also plays up the femininity of the lovely top. But untucked is also sweet - looks like the end of a summer day.

<p>Lovely and delicate. You have wonderful dainty jewelry. I don't have a preference for tucked or untucked - the look is waify, but the tuck is not to neat for it.

<p>You look so pretty! &nbsp; That is a truly gorgeous blouse. &nbsp; I like it both ways, tucked and untucked (with untucked nudging ahead slightly in the race to the finish line). &nbsp;I think it would depend on the vibe you are going after.</p>
<p>Everything else is perfect! &nbsp;Your palette is harmonious, and everything is to scale. &nbsp; So artistic :)</p>

Although I do prefer it untucked. Such a calming colour palette as always!

<p>First off, I like the earrings, and your description of the blouse. I like it tucked to show the trouser's tie in front, also the side view tucked (great figure), and the side view untucked. My least favourite is the front view untucked - doesn't look storybook-ish enough, plus I'm biased from trying my pintucked, cap/puff sleeved button-down in outfits and disliking it untucked with shorts/trousers. But that's just me.

I just want to walk into the pages of a story book with you. &nbsp;&nbsp;I can't decide on the tucking but would love to see it with one of your skirts. &nbsp;I am taking notes on your advice to wear hair up with a buttoned collar on a short neck. &nbsp;Very good to know. &nbsp;

<p>I really love this look- because it's so unique, individual, and not just another version of everything else out there. &nbsp;That blouse is so sweet it's almost into classic territory - but with that Anthro twist. &nbsp;You have styled it expertly, with the jewellery and your hair, and I prefer it tucked. And that's only because my eye is drawn to the bottom button and the slight pulling apart of the front below that. &nbsp;Plus I love how it shows the tie-waist of your pants! &nbsp;You have just the right proportions yourself to pull this off. Lovely!

<p>I really like the blouse! Don't think it's too sweet at all, but I do think it has enough going on that maybe it might make sense to leave off the pin next time, especially if you wear those lovely earrings or something similar.</p>
<p>Could the blouse work tucked in with the skirt from the 1940s outfit from the other day? It seems like the thicker, more rugged fabric would balance it out nicely.

<p>This is a lovely combination. I prefer it untucked (although tucked is nice too) because I think the blouse has really nice lines and curves, and tucking breaks them up. I really like the delicate jewelry here.</p>

<p>What a gorgeous blouse! And such beautiful earrings, too. I think the blouse pairs really well with the trousers and sandals. It's a bit of a 40s look. I think I prefer it tucked but only if you are comfortable that way. For a 40 degree day, untucked seems just fine!!&nbsp;

<p>Oh, I ADORE this.&nbsp; Also:&nbsp; earrings!<br />I think both tucked and untucked work.&nbsp; Tucked looks slightly more formal, like you're "going into town," while untucked looks perfect for a woodland stroll, or baking bread, or um tossing hoops?&nbsp; Also, tucked makes you appear deceptively tall and long-legged!&nbsp; I'd maybe like to see a few buttons at the neck undone, especially when untucked, for a carefree look.</p>
<p>I think the top would pair with pretty much all of your trousers, and I'd like to see it with a plain-ish midi skirt too.&nbsp; I bet loose shorts and hiking boots would also be fab.

<p>Great job photographing the jewelry! It looks really cool and artistic. I really like your jewelry choices with this, especially how the bracelets pick up on the color of the pants. The details of the he top are great, and super subtle. The dot pattern is not very pronounced, but makes it even more interesting! After reading your description, before I saw the photos, I was sure I would prefer the top untucked (I usually prefer tops that way on myself and others) but in a surprising twist, I really like it tucked in! I kind of like seeing the tie on the pants. The fabric textures in this whole outfit are wonderful and I particularly like your shoe choice with this!

<p>In addition to storybook gamine, I resonate with the phrase romantic tomboy, which is of course just another version of Angie's girly tomboy. Would you believe that before I joined the forum, I didn't realise I enjoyed a touch of romance to my clothes? Even though my closet is full of detailed woven blouses? Funny what you don't notice about yourself.</p>
<p>This particular blouse is about as romantic as it comes: in blush coloured silk, with a very subtle polka dot pattern, featuring puffed sleeves, pintucks, waist-defining shirring in the back&nbsp;and tiny self covered buttons, not to mention the jaunty collar. I'm in danger of toothache just describing it. This is definitely the very limit of how far I can push my style in this direction, but I really liked the built-in waist shaping and the colour, and it would be a nice upgrade for a blush tee I own that has seen better days,&nbsp;plus I find silk irresistible at the best of times,&nbsp;so I decided to give it a shot.</p>
<p>For its first outing, I paired it with my new-ish loose grey summer trousers, that I've completely fallen in love with, as they're so comfortable even in the 100+ degree (40C) heat. They were the element of the tomboy, and so with the rest of the outfit, I felt free to play up the vintage/romantic angle with my platform sandals and delicate pastel jewelry (um, attempting to photograph earrings while wearing them is a challenge). I did choose my mushroom brooch instead of one of my 'girlier' ones, to give the outfit a tiny bit of extra grounding. The hair went up, because my short neck can't handle a collar/buttoned up blouse and long hair, plus it's more comfortable in the heat. I opted for a simple tuck though instead of my crown braids, which I thought would push it dangerously close to costume territory. Rather than fussing with a topper, I just wore my linen mitts for sun protection (they came off when I was around people, so I didn't photograph them).</p>
<p>I wasn't sure whether to tuck or not: I'm new to fully tucking into trousers, so I can't quite trust my eye yet. I love paper bag waists, so I liked that tucking showed that element of the trousers &amp; it seemed more vintage-feeling, so that's how I wore it. However, I've also included the untucked version so you can tell me which way I should opt for next time.</p>
<p>I realise this is going to be way too romantic/girly/fussy for some people &amp; that's fine! I half expected to get the outfit on &amp; pull it back off or fiddle with it all day, but surprisingly once it was on I just sort of forgot about it, which tells me it's still in my comfort zone. But don't let that dissuade you from leaving critiques/tweaking suggestions: I genuinely welcome negative as well as positive feedback. :)</p>
<p>Please let me know whether tucked/untucked works better (or if they both work), either proportions-wise or vibe-wise. Try to overlook my awkward poses: my poor arms never seem to know what to do in front of the camera. Also, is the blouse too fancy compared to the trousers or do they play reasonably well together?</p>
<p>And if you have any other styling suggestions for either the blouse or the trousers, suggest away! I have a pretty big closet, so unless you advise a pencil skirt or v-neck top or something in a bright colour, I'll probably be able to come up with something close to your suggestion. Shoes are trickier, so perhaps stick to clothing recommendations. Thanks in advance!
