I sprained my ankle when I stepped off the porch onto (unseen) ice. First time in <i>25 years</i> I’ve sprained an ankle. I have barely worn anything save a church outfit and a casual outfit for my husband’s birthday dinner. The rest has been sweats at home and about town. Sweats in public feels kind of tatty, because my sweats actually are getting tatty! I hid them by wearing my winter coat over it all for when dashing to the store or post office. </p> <p>Finally I had both occasion and desire: dinner out with my mom friends. I was the most overdressed or glamorous as usual. Ha! But that’s me most of the time. </p> <p>I really love 80s/rockabilly/Teddy Girl inspired hair. I don’t wear my hair like this everyday. But when I do I feel edgy and glamorous. It lets me express a slight rebellious or edgy side of myself that normally stays tucked away. </p> <p>We had a gorgeous Leap Day— low 60s, sunshine, and gentle breezes. I have been wearing an Ace bandage to support my ankle. It makes shoes a bear because the only shoes that fit over the bandage are Uggs and a pair of sandals. With such beautiful weather, I opted for sandals. I brought along my winter coat for the drive home. Blast the heat on the feet for extra comfort. (Mountain life has its perks, one of those is wearing sandals in February—to be followed by snow shoes a week later ha!) </p> <p>AC/DC band tee, Meijer.<br /> Floral kimono, Target.<br /> Jeggings, Walmart.<br /> Earrings and cuff, costume from resellers.<br /> SOFFT metallic pewter gladiator sandals not pictured. </p> <p>Makeup was smoky but neutral browns rather than colorful smoky eye I typically do. It just felt simpler for the evening as well as less competitive with the red, black, and cream colors. Lipstick was Mac Fresh Moroccan, a cool yet warm red with gold metallic frost. </p> <p>I nearly added my hand beaded, artisan necklace. (Last photo.) But it just felt a bit much for the occasion. So ditched it and let the floral kimono and hair be the centerpieces. </p>
