Ours is in the shape of an asterisk, and each end was anchored by a big department store. Since those started closing it became sort of a sad dead zone. But the chimney needs repaired before we can worry about the wood stove so the gas fireplace suits. Now Nordstrom is closed and Lord &amp; Taylor is being converted to a new Container Store. My only recent b&amp;m shopping has been a small independent boutique, and TJMaxx. Otherwise I’ve been shopping online, which is a largely comedy of trials and errors and returns, but this is our reality now. Plus, assessing fabrics IRL rather than online. And true colors.<br /> I had actually looked forward to buying less but more in season, not end id season sales, , so as not to outguess my size, shape, preferences a year in advance; browsing without buying, in order to get a good sense of options, then being able to move quickly when the right thing turned up; shopping while wearing the outfit or items I needed to match ( having the luxury of dressing for an outing rather than running by somewhere after work.<br /> Online, I often feel late to the party- there are so many online sources, options and then I finally realize something looks just right, but sizes are all sold out.
