I like your outfit, Amy. That blue tee looks lovely with the black and white.
I also really like that first black jacket on you.

I keep thinking I should pay real money for pale or light jeans, then slapping myself in the forehead when I remember how ill-fated white jeans are in my house.

I'll get that bleach - and I'm glad to have made you chuckle, Angie I'm also liking the idea of altering this pair - the worst that can come if it is that I'm out my $3, right? I don't mind that risk.

You had me chuckling at your white jeans stories, Amy. Go get that extra bottle of bleach. *smiling*

Since you can't return the jeans - consign them, or try altering.

You are making me realize I need to learn about the ROG! What fun....my first exposure to it was Angie's April fools blog post and I didn't think it was real. I really like the outfit picked for you...and agree some of the jackets work better than others with this ensemble...a slimmer fitting bottom might just be the ticket!

This is currently my only pair of white jeans.

I had white jeans last year that were slouchy boyfriends at my weight then, and are now purged (they had also worn out).

I replaced them with white sized up skinnies just as I started to lose weight. My child washed them with a red shirt, and I never got the pink entirely out - but also quickly shrunk out of them.

I bleached a pair of blue jeans a month or two ago, and they are now almost white (kinda greenish), but there were several gray spots that the bleaching turned up and I cannot get out for the life of me. In my memory, they fit well - perhaps I should give them some more stain treating, or more bleach.... I'll pick up another bottle of bleach, just to try again.

I'm kicking myself for picking these up a few weeks ago - I was so convinced at the time that they fit, but they're obviously too big in the hips and thighs now. (Just like the pale blue jeans that I wore yesterday - I remember being thrilled that they were almost tight, and therefore would fit for a while. I haven't lost any weight on the scale since then, but perhaps it's possible that my hips and thighs have lost inches anyway? Good thing that they were cheap. They were returnable until tags were off - but not worth the gas money to bother returning anyway )

I'll hang on to the jackets for now, or try them with better fitting jeans.

You're using ROG. Fun. Fab colour platte, along with the red hair.

Amy, I think the jackets would work if the jeans were a better fit. They are too wide for your leg shape. You are after a snugger fit on the thigh and knee, although the hem width is fine. Hope that makes sense.

I think you have a more streamlined pair of white jeans - no?

#5 looks like pretty good classic blazer (provided you need one of course). And I quite like #3.

I want to do what you've done and enter my wardrobe as close as possible into the Finds so I can use the ROG. I like how you used the ROG as a starting point but modified it to work better for you. I really like how your final outfit came out.

I think you're right about which to keep and which to purge but others with a better eye might have some additional insight. I always have a hard time evaluating fit from a photograph.

The outfit I'd planned for this morning ended up being not quite warm enough for today's weather (it's warm - mid to high sixties - but I'd planned a skirt and sweater, and I'd freeze in bare legs).

So I turned to the ROG for help. I have near matches to my entire wardrobe entered in now, so I can generate all sorts of fun that is actually similar to what I own!

Here's what was generated (pic #1). In reality, the blue tee is brighter than the one in finds, but not quite as bright as it's showing in the photos. The jeans are cream, not bright white, and I suspect that the jacket is now too big for me (what do you think?) (And, sadly, the jeans too are a touch big, even though I just got them a couple of weeks ago, and was quite convinced that they fit then. Good thing it was GoodWill, I guess).

I decided to broaden the jacket to "any black topper", and discovered that I have several. This led to me trying out all my black toppers. Here's the showdown - any of these definitely need to go or definitely stay?

#2 drapey 3/4 sleeve waterfall cardi
#3 drapey full sleeve waterfall cardi (jersey, not very warm)
#4 lemming leather jacket
#5 somewhat smaller (and shorter) black blazer
#6 black circle sweater
#7 black cropped sweater

These don't include two dark grey cardigans. I have enough black toppers.

#8 is what I'm actually wearing today - I felt like black shoes completed the ensemble a bit better, and provided an extra 1/2 inch length so that my jeans don't drag on the ground.

I'm inclined to keep the lemming jacket (in #4 and #8), and the cardigan in #2 maybe. #6 probably stays because it's super comfy and warm, and #7 because it goes over dresses. Neither of the jackets really seem great to me, and neither does #3. What are your thoughts on the jackets? Am I missing a particularly bad or good one?
