<p>Glad to hear your surgery went well. Smart to pair your ortho boot with comfort footwear that matches it height exactly, especially if you are weight bearing in it. Things can get even more off kilter if they aren't well paired. I know how much patience the process takes.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Good for you to be thinking of wardrobe items and how helpful will that lightweight red backpack be? Excellent choice. Like your pant silhouettes.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Speedy recovery!&nbsp;

<p><div>Thanks, JAileen and suntiger! Fortunately, I'm not in any pain. Just a little bored and stir crazy. Even with working from home... we are having a quiet period after some major events last week. It doesn't help with my boredom level, but I did need a break from feverish activity. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>

<p>I’m so glad your surgery went well. &nbsp;Having a bum foot is the worst. &nbsp;At least it’s only a month. &nbsp;Your outfits are always so cute. &nbsp;I especially love #5. &nbsp;

<p>
<div>Thanks everyone! I am resting comfortably and in very little pain. I can put weight on the foot but it doesn't like to bend... my plan is to take cabs for a bit unless I am going a short distance. I don't want to deal with the subway--too many stairs, and no guarantee of a seat even if people do see that I'm in a special shoe.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Angie, I loved that pullover from the moment I saw it pop up in Finds. YAY. I will definitely stay home if any blizzards are coming! <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Karen, feet are the worst, but fortunately this isn't too serious. I'm a good patient, though. I do everything the doctor tells me. No desire to prolong my recovery. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>April, fortunately my post-surgical shoe only comes up to my ankle, so I am only restricted around footwear. That is sad, but it's only for a month. Everything from the ankle up can be my normal clothes, especially as it's no problem to pop the shoe on and off to put pants or jeans on.<br /></div></p>

<p>Glad to hear your surgery went well.&nbsp; It's so hard to adjust wardrobe needs to things like impaired mobility.&nbsp; I lived in sweatpants and hoodies for 6 weeks after I broke my knee last year, because I couldn't think of a more creative way to accommodate the brace.&nbsp; You'll do a better job than that.</p>

<p>Thanks everyone! I’m doing better every day and it seems like I can tolerate some weight on the foot with little pain now. &nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>slim cat - no worries, I am following the doctor’s instructions to the letter. I have no wish to prolong the period of staying at home, etc. I’m fortunate that it’s easy for me to work from home, so I can at least occupy my mind. When I do go out, I’ll mostly avoid public transportation for now.</p>
<p></div><div>Suz, the socks are, well, the bomb. They stay up and have a nice way of conforming to the foot.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>kellygirl, I wanted the jacket because my husband has a Sherpa (inside) hoodie that is so warm it often replaces a proper coat for him. It seemed nice to have something warm but more fun than a long coat.</p>
<p>Joy, that doesn’t sound like fun. I’m relieved not to need crutches of any other mobility device.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>Nemosmom, the kitty is very sweet. He also liked the high spot where I’d elevated my foot, so it was a win win for him.&nbsp;</div>

<p>Hello everyone! I’ve had my foot surgery, and it has gone well. I’m now in the staying home and keeping weight off it phase, but I expect to make some forays out into the world starting on Tuesday. I have a post-surgical shoe to wear for the next month. I will probably mostly wear an athletic shoe on the other foot when I do go out.&nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>Most of my outfits here before surgery are the usual - my winter uniform has been a sweater and jeans, but trying t keep the individual pieces fun. I did get the Angie recommended turquoise sweater because you really don’t see the color at retail.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>#1 is my coat and my new red backpack.&nbsp;</div><div>#3 another outdoor look - sherpa jacket&nbsp;</div><div>#5 was worn for an evening out.&nbsp;</div><div>#6 was a bit of a departure from the uniform<br />#7 is post-surgery lounge clothes, plus a kitty&nbsp;</p>
<p>I did some shopping but it was definitely a slower pace. The Sherpa jacket was something of a HEWI, so I made an exception there. I had had trouble finding a short, warm jacket that fit. The backpack is a duplication of my gunmetal one, which I’m trying to make last; I can now split wears a bit. And the aqua sweater&nbsp;is also a HEWI. It was a very stressful month at work, which helped distract me and break my online browsing habit a bit.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I also did my basics refresh - new undies and bralette (Gap), bras (Third Love), and socks (Bombas). &nbsp;I also want a nude cami that won’t roll up at the bottom. I also got running shoes, as I will be using and presumably wearing out half of my older pair as I wear the surgical boot on the other foot.&nbsp;</div>
