I have had it this short, but not in a while, and the stylist (a new one to me) really listened when I said I wanted volume and movement.</p> <p>Karen, I'm used to going 2-3 times a year tops, but I haven't been a broke grad student in a long time now and should be able to manage every couple of months. I'm also figuring out which products I need to stop the color from fading, since I know red fades quickest.</p> <p>Angie, it does feel good. I may even need to start wearing makeup more... The first pic is from the day it was done, as the sunlight gives a better sense of the hue. I was feeling really bored and my hair was starting to look limp (I have a lot of hair and so also a low tolerance for limpness.) Now it’s bouncy and cheery, and this is the first color I’ve done in a long time. I’m usually a medium brown with some golden highlights and a few silver hairs. </p> <p>I have to commit to upkeep, which has been a problem in the past, when I was a poor grad student. I never got into good habits for hair and skin care because of lack of funds, and now I have trouble sticking to such things because I get tired or distracted. We shall see how I do.</p> <p>ETA an extra pic because I didn’t mean for the neck of the top to be obscured. </p>
