When I first got her she had the dorkiest haircut ever (people would comment on her strangeness when I walked her), but luckily fur grows! All of my other trousers &amp; jeans are skinny or slim, because I think it flatters me more and that style works with the rest of my wardrobe (tops, toppers, shoes) far more easily. But I came across this pair thrifting last year, and they're a lovely Pendleton charcoal grey with a crazy high rise and waist that fits mine, so I couldn't resist! Last winter I wore them with blouses tucked in and a cardigan over top, but today I thought I'd have a little fun and pair them with a peplum sweater. I thrifted this years ago, before the peplum trend, and I've loved it ever since: it reminds me of something a ballerina would wear! I hope the peplum trend means I'll see more peplum tops in thrift stores eventually, since it's such a fun style. Then I stuck my velvet belt on for more texture, and because I love velvet.&nbsp;It ended up being a quite exaggerated silhouette, and it won't hurt my feelings at all if you deem it unsuccessful! It was super comfy for all of my homebody activities and kept me warm even though the house was in the low 60s/15-17C. If nothing else, these trousers are perfect for a cool weather&nbsp;loungewear capsule! Finished off with my thrifted&nbsp;cat brooch, a pewter bracelet my dad brought home from a business trip to Namibia, and my silver ring, which is a tiny snake eating its tail; I found it on Etsy.</p> <p>For dog walking, I put on a pair of boots that have a 1 or 1.5" heel to make sure the hem stayed off the sidewalk: I don't really think the toe works very well, but it did the job. I'll have to try these with the Frye Carsons which have a pointier toe, but it just goes to show why I almost always stick with narrow trousers! So much easier!&nbsp;I got this ruffly coat on clearance from Anthroplogie when I was in school as a reward for getting through a particularly challenging class; I ordered it online and didn't realise it was bracelet sleeves until it arrived! I used to think that was annoying, but now that I knit I figure it's perfect for showing off my mitts. She's a rescue mutt, I think a terrier/poodle mix, around 4-5 years old, and named Thistle. I got her in 2011 and have loved her dearly ever since. Sorry the photos are in a mixed up order, and for my weird expression in a couple of them. I'm exhausted! </p>
