Your jeans look great. Skinnies are the perfect length. The jacket you may want to hold onto until you find a better fitting blazer maybe? It looks good, but I think you can do better too. A nice black blazer would be an awesome casual and dressy piece.

Oh - well thank you then!
:)

I was just confused by the word petite. I think my height (again) makes me proportionally slim while making me wear fairly average sizes (an 8-10 usually).

Krista - am I really petite? I'm almost 5'9", and I've always thought everything about me was long. Maybe my waist is proportionally short? (I have to get shirts in 'long' most of the time too though.... Perhaps it's just the low bust from the saggy bra (now in the 'go' pile)?

Here's a couple of pics of the same jacket with a different shirt underneath, a good bra, and only part-way buttoned with the collar folded back. Does it fit differently? Is it better? I see that it doesn't fit perfectly in the back - it has wrinkles at the waist. (This was with it buttoned, which is wasn't in the earlier pics. Probably means that if I ever make myself a jacket, I'll need a sway-back adjustment)

Thanks for all the terrific suggestions!

Love the skinny jeans. The boot cuts look a tad big from the rear, but still very wearable. I like the tops, but agree with the others that the print cardi could be styled differently.
Does the green turtleneck go under the jacket? Worn open with a fun scarf it might be an option.

Skinny jeans are good!
I would keep both tops, but would wear them separately with the skinny jeans. Others have suggested great ideas for the cardi, so I echo those ideas and suggest just simple tees, in any of the colors in the cardi, layered underneath. If you layer tees underneath, I would throw on a good size leather belt and do a semi-tuck with the tees - defining the waist would be really great! I would also consider a semi-tuck/half-tuck with the t-neck with belted skinnies.
The boot cuts seem long to my eye, but would work with a heeled boot?
I'm not a fan of the jacket buttoned up, but if you wore it open, semi-tucked a top into belted jeans and threw on a circle scarf up around your neck, I think you could carry it off. It could work as an in-between solution until you found a jacket that you really like!
You're quite petite and your hairstyle is really cute on you - I think you could carry a cute and funky look (kind of boho) with just a few styling tweaks to your outfits. So fun!

The sleeves look a bit long to me, as well, and because of the shape of the jacket, it contributes to it looking overall too large. Pass the jacket on to a new home.

Love both jeans.

Love both tops.

I'm enjoying the fun colors of the cardi, but I think paring it with the t-neck makes it seem dated. Breathe some new life into it with a more modern top underneath!

I don't think the cardi looks dated at all! I have one similar that I got 3 years ago. I love how you have it with the green. I think it would look fresh if you paired it with a colored jean (one in the sweater OR one that complement or contrasts a color in the sweater) The jean you have on dates this sweater.

I also see this sweater looking really sweet with a white red or pink A line skirt. A lace camisole peeking through the cardigan would look wonderful, finish with a whimsy statement necklace and you have a "new sweater"

As for the jacket I love it too, the shape and style. ( I have not been able to find a similar one that fits -- I've been looking for awhile). I think because your jacket is slightly big, you might need to wear a something slimmer cut on the bottom to balance the look.

Thanks so much for the feedback! The jacket will go, and the cardi will move to the 'iffy' list. (I like the bright colors, and it hadn't occurred to me that it might be dated, but I think I agree that the print is kinda dated).

What's the proper length for jacket sleeves? I had thought these sleeves were perfect, just touching my hand when I held my hands out flat with my arms down. I like that length of sleeves on sweaters - I'm guessing that jackets they should be shorter? Or maybe even on both?

I also just realized that I'm wearing one of my 'go' bras in these pics. I may try pics of the jacket in one of my good ones, and see if the fit looks better. But it's still probably a 'go' jacket.

Jeans both look good. You'll have to tear my turtlenecks out of my cold dead hands so I say keep on that. The cardi has promise, but the print could look a bit dated. I'm not sure I'd mix it with the t-neck as shown. If you do, i'd definitely recommend adding a long necklace to lengthen the look. This is often what i do to breakup some of the expanse between the neck and the chest, which by itself isn't such a good look for those with a full chest. Or I'd try a very dramatic, chunky colorful piece to add to the colorful vibe. I also agree that the jacket should go. Having buttons go all the way up can quickly turn severe or frumpy.

The length of your skinnies is perfect, and I love that cardigan too!

As for the jacket, if you want to go really English riding style, wear it with a white button-down, pearls and jeans or black pants. It's a rather cool brown, so you could treat it almost like a taupe. It would pair well with black and/or white, for instance, probably rust too. But it seems to me that the cut of this jacket does not do slouchy well. I would stick to tapered and trim looks with it.

I like the boot cuts and the brown cashmere too....

I would pass on the jacket; I think it is too big for you. The sleeves are too long and it is baggy under the bust.

In my becoming minimized closet, I'm planning to keep 3 pair of Jeans. These are two.

#1-2 The now-lengthened skinnies. Are they too scrunchy? Should I take some length back out? The T-neck and cardi are also making the cut, I think. The colors make me happy. Do they look good? Suggestions for styling or improving them?

#3-5 Boot cut jeans, that are long enough (in pic 3, they're catching on the backs of my shoes). The brown micro-knit sweater under the jacket is cashmere and is staying. It's so warm and comfy that I want to sleep in it. (Trying to decide whether to keep a brown turtleneck too)

What do you think about the jacket? I like the "English Riding" vibe, but I'm afraid it might not be very versatile. It's a brown/white tweed, and I'm not sure how to style it or what to wear it with. Do you think it's worth keeping, and if so, what combos would shine in? The buttons are big and brass - should I replace them with something more understated? Also, is it too tight buttoned up?

I'm so glad you all don't mind my incessant questions and take the time to answer them! You're the best.
