Fab interpretation and yes a straighter leg would just make this look. I can't remember her name right now but your inspiration picture is an Aussie blogger

What a brilliant transition! I like the suggestion of a straight leg pant. You look great in these colors.

You all are so smart! I'd been thinking that I need a pair of straight leg black trousers and you all confirmed it. Fortunately, a pair of pants I took out of storage for Fall is now too big, so I have room and justification for a new pair. Let the shopping begin.

Donna - The necklace is shades of blue and green. It's made with crystals, so it's not as bold as the inspiration pic. Honestly, I was doing this from memory and had forgotten she was wearing a necklace in the pic. A closer interpretation would have been my urquoise stone necklace.

Nadya, do you have a pair of straight leg trousers? That would add more "modern" into this combination.

I like your blouse and cardi combination a lot! It's fresh for Fall, and pretty against your skin tone.

You've done a beautiful interpretation! I agree that pewter shoes would be a nice (but optional) touch.

I really like the teal with the print. (I have been looking for the right black and white print to wear with a teal cardigan I have too) I agree that you do not need a button front cardigan to make this work. I actually like the cut of the one you have on much better. I don't think you need lighter shoes -- the inspiration uses the shoes as a muted echo of the intense yellow sweater.

The only thing I can suggest is a narrower cut on the trousers. (Straight leg or tapered) That silhouette would send this outfit into the stratosphere!

Wonderful styling, Nadya! Love your choice of colors and I think you've captured the essence of the original. This shade of blue is a beautiful choice!

I think your wardrobe would welcome a pair of lighter shoes --- with your hair, perhaps a bronze like tone or a brushed pewter? Also, I love the flow of your trousers and they should be a staple in your wardrobe, but I think you could also add a pair of narrower trousers. Do you already own a pair of deep colored denim or perhaps a nice, thick ponte? In a world of skinnies, a good straight leg can be hard to find, but they'd look fab on you!

You've done a really great job in your interpretation! I don't think having buttons on the cardi would make a difference. Silver shoes might be nice but aren't necessary. Your necklace reads gray on my screen -- which may be highly inaccurate due to the reflection. Based on the inspiration pic, perhaps the necklace should be teal or maybe black or white for graphic contrast.

Looks sensational. Great interpretation. I don't think the button front makes a difference. Light colored shoes would make a nice contrast with the dark bottoms. So cute!

One of my new goals is to try to interpret looks I like into actual outfits. Remember a few weeks ago when people here were posting their Pinterest inspired outfits? Well here's my first attempt. It was a good exercise for me to analyze what I liked about this outfit and not be so literal. So here, I liked the graphic contrast. It didn't have to be the same colors! Wow. Breakthrough ;-). Not an happiness factor of 10 like yesterday's outfit with the blue skirt, but a solid 8.

Suggestions? Would a button front cardi work better? Lighter shoes like the inspiration?
