The leggings FELT good, but when I look at the pics, I think they LOOK thick and heavy compared to the sheer fabric of the dress. </p> <p>FIRECRACKER--The belt is belted at the dress's waist seam, which is at least an inch higher than my waist.</p> <p>DEBORAH--Interesting idea to try it with a cropped legging! That would put the dress firmly into mild weather wear. Re unbelting it--even without a belt, the top kind of drapes over the waist, which is gathered. So I won't gain length or drape by unbelting it. </p> <p>ALASKAGIRL--Yeah, I love peacock prints, too. And I'm seeing a lot of them in this fall's styles. I like it with the cardi, especially. I'm not as crazy about the dress and leggings without the cardi, perhaps because the dress looks more like a dress than a tunic that way. I could see it with a vest, though, if you wanted to bare the pretty sleeves.<br />Some other options:<br />Does the dress have a waist seam? I've never fully embraced the leggings -with -a -dress thing. I wouldn't go so far as to say I have a poison eye for it. I just can't seem to execute it well for myself. I tend to prefer the look with a straighter, more tunic-like dress and higher vamped footwear (e.g. booties). But this is purely personal, so I will let more knowledgeable others weigh in.
