Thanks ramya, tracina and Suz! I'm happy you like it

@tracina: maybe I'll post some pic's of different styling and see what you YLF'ers think

@Suz: I was actually planning to wear a black blazer, but forgot it at home. I'll have to try some jackets and see what they can do to the pants ;-)

@ramya: so lovely you commented on my hair! long story (almost) short... I have an amazing senior stylist who does wonders to my hair (I never thought it was possible!!), but I went to another hairdresser and got really upset because it was all back to old, boring hair days. My superstar hero hair stylist did do some magic with her scissors (for free!) and I was quite pleased BUT I don't think I'll get back to my usual happy hair felling before it grows a bit longer and she can perform her magic from scratch again

I am betting that now you've found one way to wear these, you'll find more. How about tucking and belting with a jacket over (one of your casual relaxed jackets, maybe?) I'll bet that would help to deal with those tucking-into-trousers demons!

You look great. Love those pants on you. I am suprised you would have too much volume-on-volume with them because they are nicly fitted in the thigh. I say just play around with them a little more.

Thank you rute! I'll keep that photo in mind - I really like it, especially the exposed belt Maybe it is a mental demon, but I get so body conscious when tucking into trousers... I feel it is so revealing and directs focus to the tummy area. Tucking in skirts is another story - I do that all the time

The pants have a lovely fit
Maybe with the green top tucked like the photo bellow?

The dressy pants have been in my wardrobe for months and I haven't had a clue how to wear it. I posted questions of PPL in May (!) and they got approved. Yes, I do have shirts, blouses, cashmere sweater, cardis etc, but when paired together they seem too dressy or I ended up with volume on volume which I find really hard to pull off, mainly because I feel like dressed like a tent (I am petite).

Then I found this denim shirt (cotton/tencil mix) which is a bit tailored and has a tiny touch of shine in it. I can pair it with pencils, shorts, trousers/jeans and over dresses. And I think this is the perfect way for me to wear the dressy pants - I just needed to juxtapose it with a casual, tailored item I hope you like it too, because I forgot to get YLF approving before buying...

#1
- denim shirt
- green wool/viscose top (Isabel Marant - another orphan!!)
- black dressy pants (Karen Millen)
- black booties (at work I changed to black booties with killer heels)
- vintage caramel bag
- scarf (I had to remove it during the day)

#2 - without the scarf
