Your outfit is gorgeous on you. I love the colors and the textures, and the proportions look fantastic. The layering in the final photo is extra fun and rich looking.
What a harrowing experience. Your writing assignment idea was a great way to address the situation, giving the students something to focus on, something constructive and immediate and therapeutic to do.

Wow krish, what a great thing to do with your students, in this situation. I hope they take your advice and do save what they wrote. I ended up in the car quite a bit today, so was following CBC's coverage, horrified.

And on a lighter note, I love your outfit. That sweater is fantastic. It's nice to see this colour palette, and worn so well!

Sorry about the terrible experience but you handled it beautifully. You are a lovely weaver - the earthy colors and textures are gorgeous on you.

First of all, what an inspired decision to have your students write about what was happening. It was absolutely the right decision. What a horrible situation. I hope that you (and they) are okay. And that the city can recover from this.

(My stepson was teaching at Dawson college in Montreal a decade ago during the shooting incident and also was with his students when it happened....it was very traumatic and it took a while for things to return to normal.)

As for your outfit, it is beautiful on you. I love the rich textures, the autumnal tones. and the dramatic shapes.

Dressing well is the best defence, perhaps?

Thank you for your kind words! I think the hipe has passed now and everything seems to be back to "normal" here, bridges have re-opened, circulation was fluid school's open tomorrow, etc.

My students are very young "adults" in this particular class: 17, 18. I have a son that age, I can only imagine how worried parents of those who live in residence must have felt.

Rusty orange suits you very well Krish. I really like this outfit, I bet it provides the comfort you crave and looks good in the same time.
I am happy to hear you are ok. How old are your students? I think it was the best thing you could have done with them on this scary day. Hold on there!

Earthy and Texture-rich. I like the taupe booties, and these are lovely silhouettes on you. Arty. I like #3 best. The dark red and cream are gorgeous colours on you.

I heard about the tragedy in Ottawa. Sounds like you handled it like a pro, and I bet the students were very happy with how you encouraged them to emote. Stay safe. xo

The Swedish Weaver (term coined by Rachylou here) came out this morning in the shape of orange and knitted fest. Not sure of the result, but enjoyed wearing it anyway. The weather was on my side but it would be too light normally. Maybe the taupe booties don't go with the dress (cool tone + warm tone). You be the judge. Also, I read somewhere that it is not fashionable to wear a dress with the belt it came with, to rather wear a better belt. And although I don't lack in the belt department, I ended up wearing the original belt because I find it doesn't cut me in half. Do you have this issue?

Steve Madden taupe booties
Nude hose
Laura Petite orange dress worn with a slip
Kimono style thick cardi knitted by me
Burgundy infinity scarf
Mitts and beanie from the store "Milk"
Roots leather bag

Today there was a rampage downtown, a gunman shot a soldier at the parliament then was on the loose, injuring others. The whole city was shut down, the school where I teach went into confinement, helicopters were zipping by in the sky... an exam was planed for today, but instead, I spent the period just being with my students, trying to be reassuring as I could. Finally I had them write down their reactions to what was going on. It was treated like any other writing, I corrected it, then told them to fold it and save it in a special place, like between the pages of a dictionary, so they would find it in one, or five years from now, and they would have a memory of today. I saw they were incapable of doing anything else, but this, they did readily, because I beleive they needed to express themselves about how they felt.
