The colour of the dots reminds me of Pantone's Colour of the Year, Peach Fuzz - it's not quite a pale pink but it's not completely orange either. Enough depth to be in-between, which is nice because even when I find a polka dotted piece in an autumnal colour, it nearly *always* has white or black spots - so close yet so far, arghhh! </p> <p> I think the key things to elevate sweatpants is that:<br /> 1) they should fit well (e.g. some people suit the wide legged 'yoga pants' look but I'm better in ankle cuffed jogging bottoms), &amp;<br /> 2) the drawstring shouldn't be visible - others might disagree with me here, but I think that casualises the look (though the jury's still out on whether that applies to elasticated waistbands)! </p> <p>I like the way the light catches your earrings - it's hard to find that shade of warm gold (especially in costume jewellery) as opposed to the bright yellow 'metal' gold look (not sure if I'm explaining it well, lol?) </p> <p>Your makeup is on point as always! But... it sounds like the contrast level in them is so low, no one can tell without really being close and in person. So it's a win!</p> <p><b>Jules</b>, I think what I'm hearing from everyone is that my boots are too low contrast for the pattern to be that evident. SO YAY! (I was worried the polka and the leopard were competing.) I also prefer medium scale or even medium-large prints. But something about this blouse drew me in and I'm glad I gave in--as you have all confirmed. I think it's mostly the color. The dots are a toasted marshmallow-yet-blush-peach color. Very low saturation and yet, dense and definitely evident it's not cream or white. And the rust itself is really good. The lipstick... let me know what you think!! It's become my everyday neutral staple. I wear it blotted or stained just a bit. It makes reapplication easy: I just swipe on in the middle of lips and blend outwards with a cleanish finger. Then wipe finger on paper dinner napkin. Done. (You probably didn't want to know all of that...) I also really love Revlon Raisin Rage. It's deeper and has more red; incredibly gorgeous as a stain. I actually felt very polished wearing this. Forgive me for sounding nit picky below. I’m just trying to hone my eye and figure out what is better or best for fit. </p> <p>I kept on my Walmart clearance $1 sweat pants as “slacks”. I’m not sure if the sweatpants truly work. I wish they were a smidge longer and more tailored. But then they wouldn’t be sweatpants ha!</p> <p>Blouse is a resale find. Polka dots aren’t maybe my best; just too uniform and small I feel. (If they’re in the fabric texture such as clipped dot or Swiss dot, it’s better.) </p> <p>Maybe the blouse is verging on oversized? should I have sized down?? I can’t ever tell how much ease is great for me and how much drowns me. There is a fine line for me. I probably have 6” of ease with this blouse. But Torrid’s sizing isn’t always consistent, especially if buying older vs recent items. </p> <p>All I have left for shoes after the health and house stuff are two pairs, including these leopard booties. (Technically they were supposed to be tossed too; but I just couldn’t…) I question if the leopard is a great bookend to the blouse or just too much polka dot. </p> <p>The earrings are new and I love them!</p> <p>Makeup is very simple. A gifted Mac pigment on eyes. Nars Taos blush. Revlon Rum Raisin. Foundation and bronzer. Done. </p>
