Thanks for sharing. I think the travel magic clothes is a great idea. Not sure how I would handle a super small wardrobe though. I have found when traveling, the plainer the outfit the better, just because the less the print, the more you notice the surroundings in the photos. I think you did great on your trip. Going from a very large to very small wardrobe is not easy! Especially when you haven't traveled to these areas before and the climate is so different. The best turned out people had simple, easy-case garments that kept their shape in the heat and humidity. I felt like I was skirting the edge of looking too fussy because I couldn't resist dressing up my linen pants and cotton tees with scarves. I'm not quite there yet, but I managed a week long trip to Seattle with two bottoms and one pair of boots. IT gets more complicated, of course, when one has to pack for multiple climates. I'm still aspiring to a Sveta level of mix-and-match while looking stylish - perhaps someday.</p> <p>ETA: The brand of travel clothing that I like is Ex-officio. A little pricey, but worth it. I wanted to travel lighter, because I dreaded the train ride from Paris to London and back. Boy was I right, handling that luggage was evil. Something came upon me last minute and decided to pack more shoes...something I NEVER do. Needless to say, I did not wear any of the extra shoes I packed. Having travelled quite a bit in Asia, backpacker style, those magical travel pants are "like magic".</p> <p>I have one black, one khaki pair (Royal Robbins Cardiff Travel pants) that I risked buying over the internet. As I have trouble getting trousers to fit at the best of times I fully expected to send them back. Yowza, they fitted. I have since lost some weight but I'm making do by running the inseam in until I have lost some more and then I will buy new ones.</p> <p>I've had them now for a couple of years, worn them heaps, still look brand new, no stains, no rips (even when I took a heavy fall recently and skinned my knee, the pants are still intact). Most people do not realise I am wearing travel pants, can wear them hiking, then wear them out to dinner, cos they can usually be worn a few times before requiring a wash, but when they do, wash in sink and dry overnight.</p> <p>Other friends have since bought them as I rave about them so much. Caveat, they are high rise, which is exactly what I wanted.
