I like them all. I think the addition of the long coat like in the inspiration photo might do add that little twist of something. In any case, you look nice and lively.

I really like both outfits with the plaid shirt and white sweater. I prefer #5 with the skinnies, but they both look good. I also like #1/2 because I think the skinnies look good with the unstructured top.

Wow… #3 and #5 are both knockouts! Agree with Angie and others that #1 and #2 just need some tweaking to add more structure. Semi-tucking (with a fab belt) is a great idea.

Oh my goodness, I love, love, love #3 and 5. So cute! I don't think that #1/2 is frumpy, but I would be interested in seeing the semi tuck.

Lol Liz - I was by far the dressiest person in the building with those on It's a jeans and polo workplace that I was visiting. (And not nice-looking jeans, mind you)

Hmmm are those trousers in pic 1? In my office, those wrinkles (? not sure what to call them, slouches?) would look out of place and a bit sloppy in comparison. Not sure of the tone of your workplace.

ETA: This particular problem might be solved by having the pants hemmed if you so desired.

Hi, for what it's worth, I don't see any frump - just a more relaxed, understated vibe.

I like Ramya's and Ceit's idea of the semi-tuck. But I actually like the outfits. Except for the chick in #4. Who stands in the middle of the street in the dead of winter with their hands in their pockets and their coat open ? ; )

I don't think these are frumpy -- I think they just might need tweaking. I think the hem on the shirt in 1 might do better with a semi-tuck?

I like both your casual looks, they look warm and comfy.

Yes, I think that's exactly it - the outfit didn't have enough structure for me, and I couldn't figure out where it should be coming from. Thank you! I'll be posting more attempts at business casual with skinnies in the next few weeks, as I prep for a conference (in Toronto!)

I think #3 looks at fab as #5. Great casual look on you, Amy.

Also, I think it's about the hem in the top in #1/#2 not giving you sufficient structure. Does that make sense?

1-2 Just need semi tuck to add structure I think amiable. That seems the thing to do in fluid tops...
I like both 3 & 5... but I understand your preferance to 5...

Yesterday, I had a meeting with some customers. My normal "business" wear is wide-leg pants and a tailored top, but I've been wanting to switch it up, so I wore skinny pants and a loose-fitting (waist surrendering) sweater. It felt just a tad frumpy - not so much as to make me uncomfortable at the site, but it made me wish for a little more edge.

Looking at the pictures, though, I don't think it's too bad, what do you think?
(#2 is lightened to show the top detail - it has a self-scarf thingy)

Today I was inspired by this pic (#4), and wanted to lighten it up for spring. But I feel like it's adding a lot of bulk to my body - I may change....

Again, what are your thoughts?

ETA: outfit 3 with skinnies rather than bf jeans. Better?
