Great outfit - I think the blazer look classic. And as Aida stated everyone has a sweet spot with jackets and button placement more than what is fashionable I think perfect fit is more important.

Thank you Aida and Joy for the explanations. I'm not short? (5' 7") And I have a long torso. I'll have to check into a lower stance and see whats up for me.
Carole - I know right? For the first time I saw Angie's Ensemble and not only thought I could do it but I was like- wait I just about have that! Usually it's more like well, I don't have yellow I could use... or something like that. : )
Thanks all and I might hang on to the blazer for awhile. It is comfy with its stretch which I seem to need across my back and it has 3/4 sleeves which comes in handy.

Joy described it perfectly. The blazer in photo 1 below has a higher stance; those in #2 have the lower more modern looking stance. Yours isn't necessarily out of date by the way, the low stance is just a trendier option. A low low stance isn't necessarily well suited to all body types either; whether you wear the blazer done up or only left open is also a factor there, and we all have different "sweet spots" for where those buttons look best.

Donna , this looks sharp on you. I like 2 with the tuck best. A lower stance
blazer usually has the top button lower down, so often has just 1-2 buttons. If you are short like me, that means the jacket is best if it is somewhat cropped or the stance may be too low. I think your jacket looks classic but a moto or even a black denim jean jacket would also look great.

Thanks Karie. The blazer must be 15 years old but I want to replace before letting go. And it has a little stretch in it.
Thanks Rute. I have rolled the tee sleeves up once and scrunched a little so they just peek out a stripe or two!
Thanks tr3kkie9rl!
Thanks Aida. What does a lower stance mean?

Looks great! The blazer looks fine, though if you are going to update I'd say something with a lower stance would look more modern. I prefer the second version.

Just never thought to pair my olive items with black. Usually reach for brown or coral, but based on Angie's ensemble thought I'd try it and I like it! Not sure if top is better tucked or untucked? Cold enough today to not worry about snow melt with my bootcuts ( we got another 7" of snow yesterday). The blazer and shirt are both so old I thought about purging a couple times but I like that the blazer is a bit more casual than my regular suit blazer and was waiting to be able to buy a black moto jacket to replace. Does it look dated? Thanks in advance for any input!
