The wave reminded me of the ocean, so I wanted an outfit that played that up. I also&nbsp;really wanted to wear one of my silk/cotton blend blouses, because they just feel so lovely. The pink of this one reminds me of seashells, so I paired it with my taupe skinnies, which remind me of wet sand, and my very favourite cardigan, which is a blue/grey mystery colour that's a bit like&nbsp;a stormy sky/ocean. The sleeves are rolled because I did a decent amount of cooking and baking and didn't want to risk stains.&nbsp;Since the blouse has a bit lower of a neckline, I put on a necklace (a lot of my tops don't work with necklaces): I got this at a vintage store in Denver on a really fun trip I took to visit one of my best friends, so it reminds me of a great city and vacation. The glass bit actually opens like a locket but I've never known what should go inside.&nbsp;I also added my mother of pearl bangles, in keeping with the sea theme, but I didn't take a detail shot since I'd already shown them <a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-november-12th-and-hemming-question">here</a>.&nbsp;They were a gift from my father: he got them in Bosnia and the metal is actually melted down artillery shells.</p> <p>I wore the Frye Carson ankle boots the whole day&nbsp;when I was at home, to make sure they felt comfortable. They definitely do, and I love them, but before I wear them out of the house I want to make sure they look good with skinnies. The toe is much pointier than my other shoes and extends about an inch past my foot, so please let me know if it looks ok. I want YLF approval as even on sale these were expensive!&nbsp;For going out I switched to my vintage hiking shoes, because it looked like rain so I didn't want to risk my suede ones, but I liked the lace up ankle boots with the outfit. I also added a cape for warmth, which is a dark grey (not black; a bit lighter than in the pictures). I mentioned that sometimes my father would come home from work trips with jewelry; last fall he instead came home with 100% alpaca capes from an alpaca ranch in Maryland. A bit random, but I love mine! I added an owl brooch just for fun.</p> <p>I included two photos of me in profile in the outfit, because I remembered that post about cameras and whether they lie, so I thought it'd be interesting to show how a small angle can make a big difference. In one,it looks pretty normal albeit waist surrendering; in the other I suddenly look pregnant, second trimester at least! It doesn't look like that in the mirror, and since&nbsp;I had lunch with my mom yesterday, I confirmed that I don't look pregnant in real life to other people. Just goes to show how little chances in&nbsp;posing can be magnified by the camera has it flattens a 3d scene to a 2d pic. It also reminded me that I need to work on my posture and keep my pelvis tucked up where it ought to be! ;)</p> <p>Happiness factor was super high: I love all of these pieces, and they all fit without me having to mess about with them, and I felt true to my personal style. But all comments and suggestions welcome if you see something that should be changed/improved! And I'll be especially grateful for feedback on the Frye boots (the grey ones in the pics without the cape). As long as everyone approves the toe, I can't wait to start wearing them out of the house! </p>
