They were a bit of a fashion stretch for me and wearing them in a fashion forward but slightly less figure flattering way (with the longer skirt) felt like even more of a stretch. Glad to know it works with the crossover top, but even happier to have it confirmed that my eye was seeing right when I saw that the tucked version worked!</p> <p>Deborah, funny you asked about the belt because I'd posted a comment about that, then rethought it and deleted it. I'll definitely try it on and see. I wondered whether it would interrupt the long line of the skirt, so I was thinking about navy for a tone on tone. Definitely something I will consider! I much prefer the tucked in this case because the untucked makes you more rectangular without looking purposefully waist surrendering AND shortens your legs (imagine how that'd look with dark booties!). However, after wearing the nude booties around the house the other night, I realized two things: 1. they were much more comfortable than I expected due to the built in platform, and 2. the leather was slouching just a wee bit and I wondered if Zappos would consider them "unworn" for the return. So I did what I really wanted to do, and I kept them. </p> <p>Today's WIW and WID(idn't)W are both nude bootie outfits. I wore the first outfit to work today. I tried on the top at BR yesterday and with my 40% off coupon, it was $25, which seemed like a really good price. I tried this in this size and a smaller size and surprised myself because I liked the slouchier version better. Usually I go straight for fitted. However, I think the fact that the arms and bottom are fitted works well with this. For warmth, I also threw on a pashmina scarf in a slightly lighter color, which worked really well as tone on tone. I didn't get a picture, though. </p> <p>WID(idn't)W is the second outfit. I initially tried on the booties with the skirt and thought that the white shirt would be a good way to create a very classic look with a bit of interest. I tired it on, untucked, and just didn't love it. It seemed dull. Then I tucked it and took a quick picture and moved on to the WIW outfit. When I looked at it again, though, I realized that tucking made a huge difference. Maybe because the high waist on the skirt then shines, making it a little bit more fashion forward? I'm wondering if I'm crazy or do you all agree? </p>
