I don't seem to be able to pinpoint why the yellow/gold works so well for you here, but it does look great. Those are colors I also steer away from. I tend to think that people with a pink skin tone can wear these colors well. I have a very fair but golden-ish skin tone, and these colors are just too much yellow on me, along with the yellow naturally in my skin tone/hair color.

I really like how your shoes match the colors in the top. I'm not sure why the colors work so well for you, but the top looks great.

Chris - these are the shoes - Me Too Adel Loafers:

https://www.zappos.com/p/me-to.....t/9206281/

There's also the Me Too Audra loafer which comes in a wider range of colors:

https://www.zappos.com/p/me-to.....ct/8864408

My review:

Me Too has long been a favorite brand for flat, super comfortable footwear. (The forum may remember 10 years ago when we were all wearing their ballet shoes). Their shoes tend to have a lot of padding and be highly flexible not stiff. Note they are not leather and are not going to last forever, so I'd look for a sale (Macy's recently had one) as I don't think they're worth the full price.

Chris I know your feet are narrow so I'd recommend the Audra over the Adel. The Adel is better for a higher-volume, wide-ish foot as there's no band across the top of the foot and the toe is less pointy. I have this in both the black and the blush. The blush is a beautiful shade. I duplicated after wearing the black for a 5 day conference where I was on my feet a ton. The Audra can work but for some reason, I tried this model in the black and it was too narrow/tight, whereas the same size in white works just fine? Also know that these will stretch out a bit with wear, so if they're a tad tight at first, don't worry.

There's also the Steve Madden feather loafer:
https://www.zappos.com/p/steve.....ext_sims_v

... more narrow, more pointy, still pretty comfortable, super cute and elongating on the feet. But lacks the padding in the Me Too.

It loks great, shiny! To me it shows a deeper version of yellow/gold, say a mustard-chartreuse- darker tan&cognac mix-and I love it on you. It really makes enough of contrast

to your actual skin&hair color, so why not? As a blonde fella my problem is always with paler colors or true tan shades.

I think the whole outfit looks terrific!

I don't see any color "clash" between your cool skin tones and the colors in the top. I think prints that contain colors you don't usually wear can be easier to style than a solid color you don't usually wear, and your shoes and bag make the whole outfit very visually cohesive. I also think that we sometimes get so picky about cool vs warm that we overthink it. Sometimes you just have to forget all your own rules and wear what you like! (I am VERY guilty of overthinking like this)

Can you say more about those shoes and/or provide a find for them?

Sorry! I just meant that bad colors next to your chest and neck (not that I see that this color is bad) seem less difficult than when they are directly under your face. And whatever you call your hair color, it suits you!

I wonder if mustard might be becoming a neutral? We see it, we get used to it, it sorta becomes like cognac or tan. I’m happy about it as color makes me happy.

I'm not sure why, either, but this combination looks really good on you. I love the caramel tones for you.

I had a similar experience this season, when I bought a green top that is very yellowish, a shade I never thought I'd wear. And I'm enjoying it. Mostly I wear it with denim blue, and it works. My coloring has always been toward the cool side, too.

I'm guessing that you may be veering away from gray these days because it might wash you out a bit, with your hair a lighter, cooler shade of blonde.

And to clarify by "less blonde" I mean less yellow blonde. If that makes sense. Obviously I'm still somewhere in the blonde category. But there's cool blondes, silver blondes, platinum blondes, yellow blondes, red-undertone blondes, golden blondes, and dishwater blondes. My lower tones are more dishwater as the greys are coming in. The lighter tones are more silver/cool. Dye jobs over the years have brought out the platinum, or the yellow, or the red. Don't get me wrong: I rather like where the natural is going and I'm not about to dye it again anytime soon.

The top (American Eagle last spring) is not my colors, yellow/gold. But I'm feeling it and not sure why! I stopped dying my hair over a year ago, but I'm definitely not warm skin undertones -- I'm very pink and blue in fact.

The Style & Co moto jacket was purchased on a trip to the mall with Chris. It's thick sweat shirt material and oh so comfy and warm, though has a goofy neckline when you zip it all the way up. Shoes are Me Too. Jeans are Old Navy. Clutch is Clare V, a few years old. Nail polish is "It's a Boy" OPI for upcoming easter.

Not sure what's going on, but every time I put on grey clothes these days (light grey) I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's about trends more than changing hair color. Or maybe I crave the yellow boost since I'm not dying my hair these days so it's less... blonde. Or maybe the top works because I mixed it with the blue jeans and the black moto?

Any thoughts?
