Cute top! It drapes so nicely. I wouldn't write off yellow - I think it would look stunning with your hair.

Great outfit and I love the slightly slouchy polka dot top.

Yellow is a funny colour - it so depends on the tone as to whether or not you can wear it. And if you can't wear it next to your face, of course you can wear it elsewhere - skirt, handbag, sandals...

I agree that if you love a color that doesn't look too great next to your face, wear it away from your face or use it in accessories. My only caution is that sometimes such colors don't play too well with the colors that flatter us, so it may not *go* with as many things as would be optimum. I've found that to be the case when I veer into colors a tad too dazzingly bright for me.

There are so many shades of each color that you can find one that will work for you better than the others. I think it's perfectly fine to add touches of a color that maybe isn't your best, just because you love it. Pick shoes, belts, bags, even bottoms in that color- and go with something that you know flatters you next to your face.

YLF! I'm a sucker for polka dots on anything so I love this top! I am also having a very big love affair with yellow at the moment. I am wearing it whether it looks good on me or not - it makes me happy to wear it and it hasn't been the greatest Spring here, so it's a good color to wear on dreary days. You will know whether it's a shade you can wear or not - I say if you find something that works, snap it up and wear it. Happiness is key!

Ditto Karie - nice outfit, almost nautical! All you would need to do is swap the shoes for sneakers. I am a similar colouring to you but I have olive skin and my hair is a little more brown. Based on my reading on that, you look like a you have a foot in cool and warm. Perhaps that's what Cate Blanchett has too, such a flexible canvas. Lucky you.

I know there are colors that we shouldn't wear, but really - no where at all on your body? So if your shirt has a touch of yellow as part of a floral design you shouldn't wear it? That's off the deep end, I think! I think if the prominent colors in the outfit are those that work for your skin tone, you will be fine.

Very nice outfit. You could try your yellow belt with this if you wanted to . Like the others I think there is a shade of yellow for everyone, from lemon right through to deep gold. You may not want a bright yellow sweater, but a handbag or shoes, or bracelet might be just perfect as an accent for your wardrobe. Keep, experimenting!

Cute outfit. You have really lovely colouring and I bet there is a yellow that works for you. I'm thinking a mustard, but those were around more in the fall i think. And not-so-perfect yellows can be worn away from your face. A belt would work!

Lovely outfit, the top is really nice. I can't wear yellow too close to my face or in a block colour on my torso, but I have a blouse with some subtle yellow in it, yellow loafers and skinny jeans with yellow in the pattern and I think these all look pretty good, so I don't agree about not wearing the colour at all.

And as Sveta says, sometimes it is just a matter of finding the right shade of a colour.

Very cute casual and relaxed outfit with BF jeans and flat oxfords, I quite like it!
Looking at you picture I am not sure that you cannot wear yellow - your skin does not seem to have a yellowish undertone. From my own experience I would say - if you love the color and it makes you happy then wear it! I also thought I cannot wear yellow but then a yellow Gap sweater attracted me and suddenly it works. Wearing it always makes me happy.
You just need to find the right shade of yellow so experiment and trust your gut feeling. There are so many different shades in different levels of intensity that I am sure you will find the one which works for you. In the very worst case yellow in shoes, belt or bag should definitely work - I think that rule is a complete nonsense!

One outfit from this week - wearing a new knit top I bought. I love the top and think the sleeve length is good.

On a different topic. I seem to be slightly obsessed with the colour yellow at the moment. Not that I really own anything in this colour - I only have a yellow/ochre belt - but virtually anything in yellow looks good to me now. Only problem is that I can't wear yellow. In some colour analysis I had done years ago I was told that if you can't wear, say yellow, close to your face it means it clashes with your skin tone and you shouldn't wear it anywhere else on your body either. What is your experience and feeling about this?
