I think all the outfits look great on you. I do especially love both outfit #4 and the ones where you styled the owl tee. They look fun and a little quirky (in a good way). I think the sneakers work really well. The stripes are very subtle, imho, especially since they're styled so far from the other stripes and broken up by the solid black on your legs.

JAileen thanks for sharing! Good that you guys collected her, so many dangers on the ground even if the adults stay near. It's amazing to get to see a bird of prey up that close.

The hedgehog I found was lying on it's side in a churchyard, but was still moving a little. It didn't seem to be injured, but it was very listless so I picked it up with a thick wool beanie and we took it to a vet. It made a ball inside the hat which I held on the drive.

They said it was very dehydrated and underweight, probably from an illness, but with antibiotics it began to eat and drink and put on weight so they could re-release it.

Rabbit, we were in a local park and my husband spotted a baby great horned owl. It had apparently fallen out of the nest. Its parents would have continued to feed it, but we were worried about loose dogs getting it since it was near the parking lot, and also worried about the light rain since it didn't have feathers yet. My husband caught it with a beach towel, and I held it in my lap for the half hour drive to the animal rescue center. They raised it for 2-3 months to maturity, and then released it. We got to see it the week before its (her) scheduled release, and she looked beautiful. It was terrifying having her in my lap, but I think she was scared too. She kept clicking her beak. This was a good sign, it meant she was ok.

I love your grey booties so much, in all their photos. The ombré look makes them go with everything. Good job with working in the pastels in outfit 1.

For outfit 3, like Gigi I wouldn't have noticed the stripes if you hadn't mentioned them. They're subtle and neutral enough to not be distracting, in my opinion.

And in terms of outfit 4, I agree with some of the others that it might not be your best color. And personally I share your feeling about turtlenecks versus cowls, even though I know some consider turtlenecks a staple.

Yeah fuzzylogic and E, it's a light gray, but not a great one with my complexion, I usually go for darker gray.

I love the way you have taken an outfit and then shaken it up a bit by changing the boots or adding a scarf! I love the colour palettes and textures in #1 and #2! And the prints and stripes in #3 are so much fun!!!

Like E, I' m not sure the jumper in #5 is you best colour but you are juggling this one.

Thanks for sharing these great outfits!

Ohhh: on my monitor that sweater looks more like a beige than light grey. So I bet it makes a different impression in real life! I have to avoid turtlenecks (my neck is very short), so I've never tried to alter one. Maybe avoid making any definite decisions until your hair is back to normal.

(And I love hedgehogs! We used to get ones in our garden when we lived in England. I wish they were native here too.)

I was drawn to your thread because my husband and I rescued an actual baby owl last year.

I like the owl with the striped sweater and the skirt - super cute outfit. I also like the skirt with the green jacket. The fit of the jacket is really great. It shows off your waist beautifully. I also like the little grey/black boots in #1. I'm not sure how you should style them, but they're cool looking, a little like Robin Hood.

Ha E! But actually, I learned a lot from both impressions.

Gigi - I will experiment with different bottoms for the first look in #2, and pay attention to what is happening at the waist. Good point.

For #3 I was going for busy. :) although I usually am more minimalist. I tried to reduce color as much as possible so only the pattern would mix, the owl is embroidered, and the thread exactly matches the creme/parchment stripes on the sweater. The patterns do kind of jumble up with an outer jacket, and I wasn't as happy with how the cardigan looked then. I will experiment with different laces on the shoes. I've tried black (it was okay, but made the shoe more boring), and haven't yet found charcoal.

I think I might wear variations on this with only two of the items together, rather than three. (so shoes and sweater, or sweater and owl shirt but with simple black shoes).

I'll keep the turtleneck for a bit, just to see if it fills a hole nothing else does. Thanks!

E - aw, sorry no real owl (I did rescue a hedgehog once). The green jacket and blue scarf are okay in RL together, but kind of need to be pulled together more by other colors in the outfit if I do that again, you are right.

For the last outfit, that color pale gray isn't the best right against my face with no other color, and black (with my temporarily black hair) is a bit harsher than usual. The sweater is fairly thin, but the turtleneck does make it look stiff/bulky, I agree. I wonder if it is worth chopping off the neck and wearing with a scarf? Or just splitting the back or stretching it out so it does a cowl? Things to think about, I do have several darker gray sweaters....Thank you!

I was expecting a real owl, hehe! But your graphic tee is very fun, and you styled it to be even more fun, so I'll forgive you. Love both versions (and your black kitty!), but I don't have any sneaker advice as I've never really worn them.

I love the silver/grey/blue mix in the first one in #2 as well, and I think it would have looked fine with just the shoe swap. I'm not quite sure about the green in that jacket with the blue of the scarf, they seem to be fighting a bit, but it might just be my monitor. I do like the shape a lot though: you wear fitted jackets & skirts so beautifully.

The colours in #1 are right up my alley, and the drapes and wraps in that top are gorgeous on your figure. Love how the grey booties echo the muted tones of the shirt too!

To be honest, I'm not sure the colour in #5 is your best, especially compared to the other outfits in your post. It also looks a bit stiff/bulky, in the photos at least. But if you find it useful & like it in person, that's more important.

ETA: Clearly Gigi & I have the exact opposite impressions! lol Style is so subjective!

I like the scarf! I too have to be in tune with the undertones of a particular color to make sure that it looks "right" on me.

In #2, I know what you mean about wearing heels with a shorter skirt...it can be tricky. I think the combat boots look more "grounded." I also think that the green cardi works better than the lilac one because the green cardi is shorter and gives you better proportions with the skirt. I feel like the lilac cardi kind of cuts you in half in this particular outfit.

In #3, the outfits are too busy for my taste--but I am not good at mixing patterns. It may be that the outfits read as "busy" because the cardi stripes are right next to the owl instead of a ways away. As for the sneakers, I honestly didn't notice the striping on them until you pointed it out, and then I had to look really hard. Do you think it's possible that the stripes aren't as big an issue as you think? Or maybe it's just a case where it's hard to see them on a computer monitor? (Sometimes things are indeed very obvious IRL, but since they're small, they just don't show up on the pix very well.) The only thing I could think of to help with the sneakers if you find them distracting is actually to change the shoelaces to something that is closer in color to the gray of the sneakers. It seems to me that maybe the laces have more "pop" than the stripes and might be causing a problem.

I LOVE #4! Great outfit. The turtleneck does indeed look good on you. If you have no love for it, I would at least keep it around until you get a replacement, since it sounds like it is very useful.

1) I wore this out and about and ended up coming home with the scarf (jones new york / sweet lilac) because I'm experimenting with more pastels. It leans as much pale blue as violet which I like.

2) The skirt felt too short to me with the gray booties with heels, so I switched to the combat ones, but I like the silver/gray/blue tones so want to try this again with something different on the bottom.

3) An attempt to incorporate three orphans, the owl tee shirt, striped sweater, and striped sneakers (#4). I thought the sneakers would get daily wear since they are super comfortable, but the stripes are a little hard to work with for anything besides an black outfit. Any ideas? Also shortly after this photo the cat jumped from the ground to the back of my shoulders (don't just stand by the door! Let's go for a walk! :3 ).

4) Five minutes to get out the door outfit. I think I prefer the look of cowl to turtleneck sweaters. This sweater might go on the get rid of pile although the color is useful and it's one of the few more cropped sweaters I have.

Any feedback welcome and useful! Sorry about the awkward faces.
