I'm so glad I'm twice that age now. I was the class nerd, and while I wasn't bullied <i>too</i> horribly, I was definitely never considered attractive or well-dressed. I do think I had distinctive style back then (combat boots and punk / grunge looks, it being the 90s), but high school was really not a good time for me socially. Then college was wonderful socially (I was at a nerd school ) but a fashion disaster, and it wasn't til my 20s that I started feeling comfortable in my own clothes. Probably a pretty common story around here! I've only been to a consignment store once though: the staff were snotty and I wasn't impressed with the selection either.
