<p>Very fun!&nbsp; I love the ribbon detail on the cardi, and the rolled jeans with the stompy boots add a nice juxtaposition to the flowy top and cardi.

<p><div>MG, next time I'll photograph the top on its own. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Windchime! All of my trousers tend to live rolled up on the shelf, lol.</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks Shevia!</div><div><br /></div><div>Suz, oh really? I suppose I don't actually go to malls that often, but I'm pretty sure the yuppie ones around here are full of cardigan &amp; jeans outfits. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>PMC, I almost always roll my trousers, unless they're already cropped! :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks MaryK!</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Debra.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's a pretty general consensus, isn't it Ceit? Good lesson for next time!</div><div><br /></div><div>Diane, that's a good point that my hair is a dark blonde, so bookends darker shoes fine. I'm so glad to see all of the cardigan love since it's a new purchase! Next time I think I'll wear it buttoned up as a jumper/pullover.</div>

<p>I love it E. The first thing I though was to leave off the belt too though. And I think there is enough brown anyway as your dark blond hair partners your shoes, so I feel that it would still work. The lovely cardigan detail needs to shine. Love the way you rolled your jeans over your shoes too.

<p>This is super! I don't think you'd fit in too well at my mall. Nobody here wears interesting cardigans like that. But I agree that leaving the belt off would be even better -- allow that detail to stand out on its own.&nbsp;

<p>You're very right Angie, as usual. :)</p>
<p>Aubergine, isn't it funny that in analysing what was off about the outfit the belt didn't occur to me? But when I look at the thumbnails it rather jumps out, doesn't it? So yep, filing away for future reference.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thanks!&nbsp;</p>
<p>Joy, I don't have a brown bag (I barely have any bags at all, to be honest, and only wear them when I have to due to health issues), but I agree that removing the belt would have worked better! Thanks!&nbsp;

<p>I love the ribbon details on the cardigan too, and the navy and peach together are so pretty on you! The only thing I'm not sure about is the belt -- the crisp white trim with the navy&nbsp;on the cardigan makes me want to see everything else in cool shades, or at least kind of&nbsp;neutral, so the belt stands out a little to me because it's so warm-looking.
</p>
<p>Edit: Or what Angie said quicker and less wordily than I did!</p>

<p>Angie, I only added the belt to get some more brown in, so I would feel very comfortable with leaving it off. That would create a flow-ier line up top too, wouldn't it? Thanks for popping by and making such a helpful suggestion. :)</p>
<p>Sarah, thank you! The cardigan is my first purchase of the year, because I couldn't resist the ribbon-y detailing. ;D

<p>Obviously, Angie's recent post about combining navy, peach, and brown was the inspiration! The only peach in my closet is this silk&nbsp;blush top, which leans more towards the peach than pink end of the spectrum (although the colour isn't showing up right in the pics...I've noticed blush is the most difficult one to photograph). It's quite low cut, with neat seaming and a little peplum&nbsp;that reminds me a bit of ballet costumes and corsets and other such things, and while I have no problem wearing it on its own in appropriate settings (it makes me feel feminine but grown up), a lazy Sunday did not seem quite that setting. Thus I added a navy cardigan over top, with its ribbons capturing a bit of the girly feel of the now almost entirely hidden top. I have two pairs of navy trousers: these jeans and lighter pair with polka dots. The weather was chilly enough that I welcomed the extra insulation of the denim, so jeans it was. For brown accessories, I put a belt on under the cardigan (these jeans are tight enough that adding waist definition feels like overkill) and brown socks. When I went on my walk, I wore my hiking boots, but in retrospect I should've gone with my mid-calf brown lace ups. Oh well! And I forgot to add any jewelry; my mind has been a bit scattered lately.</p>
<p>I felt comfy in this outfit, although quite mainstream too. I would have blended in well had I needed to go to a mall, I think. I think if I were going to try this combination again, I'd swap out the jeans for my navy blue skirt. And I'd probably pick a different topper, one that ends higher so that the peplum on the blouse is visible. But I didn't have a navy blue option that met that description, and I wanted to work within the 'constraints' (although of course Angie herself is the first to tell us to adapt, so the constraints were completely artificial and self-imposed).&nbsp;Even if I wouldn't put this in my greatest hits category, I still felt good in it.</p>
<p>Comments and suggestions always welcome!
