The problem! I'm wearing nude double fishnets with mine, so a layer. But hardly warmth. Even if I layered them over hose, they still won't be as warm as tights.  BTW, the boots are actually caramel, so more of a light golden brown than yellow. Cameras. Computers. The do weird things to color.  So who owns yellow boots? Not me. But I have a lovely caramel pair! I bought La Canadienne pointy toe heeled boots (that I might have to return due to colour issues) but...just saying.  Also, I do understand your feelings about booties with skirts. This is a big challenge for me, as well. The thing is, it looks good on you, to my eye. Just not on me. So I tend to reserve it for black booties/ black tights, too. But then the look becomes so dark for someone with light hair. So what is a woman to do? Light footwear and nude hose? But even though Angie has given us her blessing to wear nude hose and I am not against it, it doesn't exactly keep a girl warm in the arctic air. Period. 1054800@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Angie's post on HEWIs (Highly Elusive Wardrobe Items) really hit a chord with me.  I have been patiently searching the past couple of years for a new refined tall black boot with fitted calves and pointy toes. In the meantime, I've been getting by with my old JCrew pointy toe boots.   These boots have been fabulous soldiers. I've probably had them for 10+ years, with maybe a year or two in storage for stylistic incompatibility.   Unfortunately, the leather is finally at the point that it isn't getting better, it is getting worn, and the calves are a little loose after I lost weight, and I do find the toes a little too extended a point, so they are ready to be replaced. Except that I can't find a good replacement.  So, I'm wearing them and searching for my HEWI.   In the meantime, here they are with a tweed skirt from NAS. Side photo shows the panel.  I bought the full suit, but so far have only worn the pieces separately.  Slouchy old BCBG sheer sweater, with extra long sleeves.  Cozy.  ETA: added a picture of the skirt since it is impossible to see the detail in my photos. :)  Also, a second WIW, which is a bit of an outfit miss.  The shirt is normally a layering shirt and I left the house thinking it fit okay. In the photo, it looks too tight.  Maybe the result of a long day of crumpling or a bit of stain as I took the photo, or maybe just too tight.  Otherwise, I think this is okay.  I love the leopard belt with the mustard skirt (see--it's daffodil in the spring and mustard in the fall and winter, gotta love that!).   I'm about over trying to pair booties with skirts. It's just more challenging than I think is worth it.  I kept looking at this thinking my tall brown boots or my brown pumps would have been nicer.  Maybe I'll leave the booties and skirts look for my black booties with my black tights.    Oh! Bonus pic of the leopard lining in my navy trench.  Leopard on leopard!  Pretty amazing for me, considering that I wouldn't wear any animal prints other than leopard flats when I first joined YLF!
