I should have noted above that the first outfit has a very high happiness factor--I really like all of the elements and was glad they went together--and the other one was also fun to wear for a day off. <b></b></p> <p><b><br /> </b></p> <p><b>doubleH</b>: I did not design the fabrics; in both tees, they came the way you see them--printed in #1 and with the shredded stripe pattern in #2. I just made simply-lined tees out of the fabrics. I do design in the sense of changing some elements of the sewing patterns I work with, figuring out what to make out of a certain fabric, placing the prints (as in #1) in a certain way on the garment. </p> <p>&nbsp;<b>JamC</b>, thank you. I do love to create things that I want to wear. It doesn't always turn out that way. But the creating is the fun part.</p> <p><b>Suz</b>, thank you! I wouldn't have thought of outfit 1 as soft edge, but I don't think I completely understand the term. Though I'm flattered to have my style called "soft edge" anyway! I guess the edge is the booties? I tried the outfit with some ballet flats and metallic sling-back Mary Janes, and I just had to wear the booties. (Kind of like I just had to have them when I tried them on in the store; they are just what I want my style to be.) </p> <p><b>KL</b>, I like your idea of red pants. I think it would look fab, too, especially in something like a tomato color. The only red pants I have are wine skinny corduroys, which might not work that well. I paired it with a top in some of my favorite moody colors that has 2/3-length sleeves--both the colors and sleeves are my nod to fall. <br />Yesterday I wore bootcut jeans in a dark wash, fully expecting to change into jeans cutoffs later in the day, but I ended up leaving on the full-length jeans all day. It was a dry day, perfect for bootcuts!</p> <p>The outfits:<br />1-3 (worn to work, Sunday): Eileen Fisher knock-off flax linen 8-panel tie-up skirt (made by me); taupe, gray, and eggplant floral rayon knit ballet-neck, 2/3-sleeved tee (made by me); metallic cutout peep-toe booties (Paul Green, Tacey); silver pave disk earrings (Lucky); pewter leather band crystal-studded disk bracelet; taupe hobo bag (Aunts &amp; Uncles).</p> <p>4-6 (worn for a day off, Saturday): dark blue bootcut jeans (Lucky, Sweet Jean); navy and cream destroyed-stripe boxy tee (made by me); cream belt; cream platform sandals (Naot); stone hemp hooded zip jacket (Layers Squared); hammered silver layered hoop earrings; navy and tan satchel (Dooney &amp; Bourke).</p> <p>Any suggestions and thoughts are welcome!
