What do you mean misses? While I'm not able to offer suggestions like the others, they all look good to me. The colors in 1-3 and the polka dot blouse in 5-7 are just fun. I wouldn't *not* wear the combination in 4 - I like it but my eye is definitely not refined. Maybe you need a colored hat to wear with that? Or a scarf. I like Atlantia's idea of the polka dots with the chunky scarf.

I do prefer the slimmer pants on you, as a general rule. The wide ones, especially combined with a bulky sweater, make you look chunky, which you are not. The general rule is to have volume either on the top, or the bottom, but not both. Like all rules, it can occasionally be broken successfully, but it's good to keep in mind.

I do think the first and last outfits are successes. :o)

I want to make myself a cloche too. Next project.

I like all of these! I do think, in #1, the fact that all the colors are muted might be what is making you feel it was a miss. You can take bright color.

I also wonder if the green sweater is a little bit stretched out?

Love the dots in #5; I actually squealed at the Minnie Mouse look. So cute.
As for #4, I agree about matching with slimmer pants. But, I also feel like the length of the sweater might be a little short for trousers as well. And you know what might be fun? The dots under the sweater, peaking out the bottom!

I love your color combinations in your first outfit. To my eye, using color like you did immediately makes a simple outfit look more interesting without sacrificing practicality and comfort. Love it.

I also really like the polka dot blouse and slimmer pant outfit. Again, you've nailed that simple but interesting look by using a pattern, layering, and a slimmer silhouette.

And I'm tended to agree that, in comparison, the sweater and wide-legged pant outfit probably isn't in the same league. I love both elements, but I think that Suz had some good ideas about how to take that sweater up a notch. I also think that maybe pairing the wide-legged pants with a more structured, fitted top with a bit more waist definition might work.

Nice job!

I actually quite like the chunky sweater and wide pants. It works for me. And the polka dot outfit is fab! Your outfits get better every day!

My fave is definitely your polkadot blouse + sweater combination. Vintage blouse, you say? I am totally jealous. I really like the idea of your cream sweater with a slim skirt or pants and that gorgeous crossbody bag. I think the bag would go with the polkadot shirt outfit, too. What a wonderful gift!

I think either red purse would actually do a lot for outfit #4!
Burgundy shoes are better with #5-7 than red anyway. Very cute. Actually, how do those shoes look with the wide jeans?
I like all these outfits, however based on this and other posts I feel like slim leg jeans are really great on your figure.

I think all these outfits work. #1 and #3 are my favorites. The polka dot shirt looks great layered under the sweater. I like the winter white sweater with the wide jeans. I think it just needs a little extra something, like a belt or necklace. A scarf would work too as you've suggested.

Wow, Thanks for the lovely comments!

More hat photos taking from a reasonable angle soon. I swear it looks cute in the mirror i really want a cloche though. I'll have to try out a few silhouettes and solicit comments here.

And yes, the blue-green outfit was sooo cozy and comfy, and I loved the little bit of tension from the analogous colors.

I'm no expert but I think you should change the title of your post. ;-)

Love the blue/green outfit. Maybe you were happy because it was so comfy. Sure looks comfy. Love the crossbody bag.

Love the second outfit more. Agree with Suz, the crossbody bag would be perfect here.

Love the polka dot shirt and slim pants most! This was my favorite outfit! You're so slender!

I agree about hats, I have been wearing a hat inside the house for the past few weeks, and also to sleep on some nights (been a bit sick). My husband thinks I'm crazy but it's so cozy. I'm not sure that this hat silhouette is perfect for you, or maybe it's the photo angle, but I love the idea.

#3 looks good with that new cross body bag and I'd love to see you with the dotted shirt on it's own (no topper) as I agree with Suz, you look great in those dots! I'm not a fan of super wide trousers so I'll pass on those but I think slim pants are also a great choice for you.

Ahh - thank you Suz! I agree, the chunky sweater needs a slimmer bottom. I'll try the blue-green with my skinny jeans next time too, Thanks! And maybe the dots top is a keeper? Hmm... The slim black pants are a near failure tailoring attempt. I didn't nail it by any means, but perhaps they're passable.

I like your green and blue outfit! I'll bet you enjoyed it because the colours are happy and a bit unexpected, it's practical, and it's a bit of a trend. I like it with you fab new crossbody bag. But that is partially because of style (seems more in tune with the outfit's casual integrity) and partly because I, personally, can't bear carrying bags on my arm. So take that last point into consideration. I do think the pop of red is really fun. I'd like to see this one with slimmer trousers, too.

I think I'd pair the chunky sweater with slimmer pants and/ or a pencil skirt. To add some colour, your new bag! Or perhaps your footwear.

You look cute in the dots! I like you in the slim pants, too. And a shoe with a bit of a heel adds a little something.

You're right about hats. They are the secret to winter warmth.

Because I'm learning, I figure I may as well share my misses and ask for suggestions right along with outfits that I liked....

So here's the first half of this week.

#1-3 a Green-blue outfit. With a puffer vest. Happiness coefficient was high on this one, but I'm not sure why. Does it work? Also shown with my early-Christmas-gift new bag (#1 and #3) from a friend. Which red bag goes better here? (Neither is a fine answer).

#4 Felt boring. It looks that way too. (It's my now-dark wide-leg jeans again) I need to take Angie's advice and add some color or pattern or shine (it already has texture). What do you suggest?

#5-6 I wanted to try polka dots, and this is my only dotty top. It's quite vintage, and I'm not sure whether or not I like it. I thought I'd throw on red heeled loafers as a nod to Minnie Mouse, but they're more burgundy than red.

#7 I discovered a secret to keeping warm when I'm cold: a hat. The camera angle I think is making my chins more prominent than I hope they really are (my 5-yo took my pic). And to be honest, I don't mind whether I look okay in hats or not - they're warm. I think I'm going to make myself a cloche like Jenava's.

Suggestions? Feedback? Thanks!
