I think your use of this belt "defines" the area in a good way --- lends a little structure to the area that makes you self conscious. I think you look quite trim, but I know the midsection often feels a little soft for awhile. Belts that are just a little a little wider can hide some "fluff," actually, or at least I hope the one I wore tonight did (lol). I do like the belt, but I wonder if you might try shifting the buckle detail more to one side slightly? Putting the buckle squarely in the middle sort of highlights that area. Your waist is very trim (I wouldn't have guessed you had a baby so recently if you hadn't mentioned it - I'm new here!) but I can understand how you'd be uneasy about it. The other possibility, if symmetry is more comfortable for you, is to loosen the belt a notch or two so that it has more of a "V" shape, dipping down rather than bisecting your middle. That would also lengthen your waist a little.
