Suz, Yes indeed, the blue print shirt is from JCrew, and I purchased it last year. A clear favorite in my closet. I just read about your laundry mishap. How sad! I wish I had a fix for you. The jeans are also from JCrew. They carry tall sizes so I often end up purchasing clothes from them.

I like the idea of wearing boots with the skinnies. I have a large boot collection, and definitely live in a cold climate.

Interesting point about the stretch in the jeans. As the day went on, the skinny jeans became looser, as is typical of all jeans; I thought they looked better. If only they could start that way right after I wash them!

Kiwigal, a belt is a good idea. I have one that I think would work. I will give it a try. Since rolling the pant legs helped, it makes me think that anything that alters the way the eye views the proportion of the pants would help. A belt would accomplish this goal.

Gigi, thanks for the complements! I am truly flattered, and I will hold off on any hasty decisions. It's unlikely that I will find replacement white pants that fit me we'll, quickly or easily.

I wanted to add about the first ones...if you live in a climate where tall boots are often used in winter (as I do) you might really enjoy and get wear from the ecru skinnies tucked into boots. Slim like breeches. A very equestrienne look with a dark jacket.

The color combination in the first one looks good, but like others have mentioned, the skinny skinnies are a bit more skinny than I prefer (on anyone). Second outfit looks great but I am afraid Suz is going to steal that tee right off my monitor :-)!

I think you look great in both. In fact, before I read your write-up, I was admiring how wonderful you look in the first pic! OK, and there was maybe a teeny bit of envy. :)

I think you should continue to wear both pairs (both look great, IMO, it's just that the vibe is different) so that your eye can get used to them. After your eye adjusts, then you can make longer-term decisions. But please don't be overhasty in putting the skinnies in the giveaway bin! They really look gorgeous on you.

Ack!! You have MY TEE!! The one I just ruined in the wash!! In your second picture. Did you buy this last year from J. Crew or where did you get it? I love it and want to replace mine!!

Oh, was this post supposed to be about you? Uh...sorry about that.

First, light coloured jeans take getting used to. You definitely have the bod for them; no worries there. In fact, you were made to wear jeans, period, and light coloured ones perhaps especially.

But. It does take a few outings until you feel okay. And sometimes people like to size up. I know that on my first outings in white jeans I thought everyone was staring at my whale-like thighs. Now I am totally used to it. Let them stare, I say. They are probably wondering why they never had the guts to wear white bottoms.

Now, onto the outfits. #1 -- the jeans are definitely super skinny. They still look good on you because you have the shape for it. Are these from J. Crew also? I ordered theirs and sent them back because I like a less stretchy fabric for my jeans. But I like this entire outfit including the sandals.

#2 -- I love the fit of these jeans. And obviously, I love the tee, too. :)

Great idea Kellygirl! I can roll them, and I like the look so much better! An easy fix that makes an ok pair of jeans look great! You have a good eye ;-)

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Alana, you are right that I do not wear these very often, even though I like the idea of white pants. I even like the pairings of these tops with white pants. I definitely want help feeling more comfortable in my jeans!

I really think I posted because I had the sense that these jeans were ok but not great. I have not been comfortable wearing them, perhaps because they look tight, even though they don't feel tight. I have been working on honing my closet down to only those items that are excellent, ie. They fit well, look great, feel great, and make me happy.

I think I will keep these jeans until I can find some sort of replacement and then toss them in the giveaway bin. I will hunt for a larger pair on sale and see if I can have the waist/hips taken in. It's times like these that I wish I knew how to sew clothing! I have recently resorted to wearing skirts more frequently, because it is so hard for me to find jeans and slacks that are long enough.

Marley, my earrings do not snag in my scarf! It must be an advantage of my long neck!

I really like the second pair--the whole outfit is great. I think the first pair doesn't have enough scrunch at the bottom. Can you roll them to make them intentionally shorter? Alternately, you could tuck them into some boots.

I think the fit is fine although looser would also work. I wonder about adding a belt in pic 1. I love the sandals with the jeans.

I agree with Alana though, if you are not comfortable they will languish.

I agree with Marley that white pants/jeans/bottoms of any kind look better on any type of body in a more relaxed fit . And I know how you feel - I sometimes feel I look about 2sizes bigger wearing my white jeans!

I like the jeans best with the sandals in the first pic.

I think the 2nd pair of jeans look like a good fit - and the entire outfit is really cute! With the first pair of jeans (the "skinny" ones) I would try sizing up a size or two. IMO - skinny, skinny light colored jeans don't do anyone any favors. I think they look better on people if they are more of a slouchy skinny, rather than a true skinny. I like the way that you have the scarf wrapped and I am very envious of your long neck! I'm just wondering though - do those dangly earrings ever get caught on your scarf? That happens to me aLOT - but it may be the curse of having a short neck!

1. Running errands today. I put on my ecru skinny jeans and a grey linen top. Added a scarf and abalone earrings, some Naot platform sandals. Not sure if the skinny jeans are good for me.

2. Testing my vacation wardrobe, I picked out white straight leg jeans and a printed linen top. Picked my tan flats because they were going with some other items in the capsule. (That explains the bad hair moment, I wasn't going anywhere).

So hard for me to tell if I like these jeans. I know white makes everything appear larger. I am not large, and they do not feel tight when I am wearing them, but they look tight in the pictures. Maybe I should stick with a darker color?
