I was sure I had a better hair pic since I wear it up so much but I guess not! It's absolutely a 2-minute messy "technique" that just works well with my hair texture...some days there's more lift at the crown and some days less. [Selfie shot + angle on L is exaggerating / elongating face AND hair lift a bit compared to mirror shot.]</p> <p>It's just a ponytail holder + pinch (aka beak) clip + a few bobby pins if needed for stray hairs at the back. The clip bisects the pony and that hair kind of flops down vs being tamed into a true bun. [&lt;--- obviously not a Hair Vlogger!] </p> <p>I have a few clips in Onyx or Tortoiseshell that I grab when they're on sale to make the situation look a little classier. I am doing the same - just mixing as I go. But I have been using Rit. With warm water. In the machine. So much easier than a bucket! I have found I get the best results when I dye once and then dye again. I suppose it’s a better saturation of colour. I haven’t tried iDye yet. Very sad only a few cooler shades of it work on me so live vicariously a lot!</p> <p><b>Brooklyn --</b> I'm very much a loose-cannon, bucket-based experimenter so I can't tell you exactly. After using Jacquard liquid silk / wool dye +fixative for years, I've added their powdered iDye as an option. I always used cold water with the liquid but the iDye states warmer temps -- which I avoid for shrinkage reasons.
