That and my coworkers are getting tired of me asking them to take pictures for me ... gotta figure out this selfie thing soon. So first, my apologies for the past and likely future inattention.</p> <p>I grabbed this skirt this weekend during a visit to Crossroads with Greyscale, and being on Team Wear, I decided to try it out today. It has a sort of burlap-like texture, hence the title of this post. My coworker, upon seeing it, said I looked like a very 2013 20-something's vision of the prairie. He said the big pockets were where I would stash my stolen bread (I think he's confusing being a street orphan and prairie living). The pockets have actually been pretty useful - they're definitely good for stashing wallets and phones, at least.</p> <p>To contrast the sort of rough looking nature of the skirt, I decided to top it with my silk camisole from Madewell. I also like the fact that it's pretty simple/understated, which lets the skirt take front stage. This camisole is actually a bit difficult to wear. I generally don't want to just put it under something, since I think that obscures its nice texture, but the straps make it hard/slightly awkward to wear a bra with. Here I've put a Gap sports bra underneath. Hopefully the straps blend in a bit that way.</p> <p>The weather's been warming up a bit in San Francisco, so I decided to forgo a jacket and just grab a sweater. I haven't been outside since the sun's gone down though, so it remains to be seen whether or not I'll regret that decision.</p> <p>Silk camisole - Madewell<br />Sweater - Gap<br />Skirt - Issey Miyake via Crossroads<br />Shoes - Cole Haan </p>
