YLF Donna. I really like 3/4 too. And very impressive cutting your own hair. Could it be a humidity thing? Mine is much flatter in low humidity.

I really like #3-4, surprisingly. I think the pointy toe metallic sneakers make it work.
I don't have a lot of grey, but it is wirey, so I'm not sure how I'll be able to style it when there's more. Currently I'm coloring my way through denial

It does tend towards being dry and it is very thick and coarse. It sounds like you're going to figure yours out - I never thought of hormonal changes affecting it, since it seems to be more affected the more it turns, but that is a good thought. (especially since I'm not sure where I'm at with the whole mp thing and will be hitting a "milestone for me" this year)

Your hair looks lovely. I like the texture. I do think hair tends to wave more when weather is damp and it is freshly cut/ layered.

Hi Donna --

I can't believe you DIY'd the hair in a hurry and it came out looking so good! I can't even trim the pieces in front without doing the walk of shame at my next hairdresser appointment.

Those metallic slip-ons are so perfect for you. Also echoing the other comments about about the coral, the scarf, the life-is-too-short pants....

Sounds like we're hair twins and YES I'm feeling like my waves are fading.

I have a couple things going on: stopped coloring (heading for month 9), hormonal shifts (due to both surgery and nature), and changed shampoos after stopping coloring. I can't tell if the shampoos (I alternate between "moisture" and "for grey') are too heavy when combined with the "creamy" product I use, or if I need to change product (nooooo, I hate experimenting) or what. I'm going back to my old "for color" shampoo to see if that helps.

Waves *do* need moisture -- just not too much, grrrrr -- so maybe yours are a bit dry and rebelling by straightening. If you solve it let me know, ha -- but at least yours looks good now!

gosh….i love the olive pant/white tee oufit….i agree with shevia re cuffing the pants….and i hear you on the hot/cold office, my office runs the same way. i've found, long sleeve tee's help (easier to push up the sleeve then when the temp rises) and i use my scarfs more as shawls. (i have one that i leave at my desk, just in case)

Love your lemming on you! I have the same one on my way to me. I hope it looks half as good on me as it does you. I have no help with the greys/wave situation. My hair is pin straight (how I'd love some wave and body). I'm starting to get greys at my part and all they want to do is stick straight up!

Thanks kellygirl! It's not so much the look of the creases I think, but how they felt too sloppy. If my hair gets any coarser it won't be hair!
Thanks JAileen! Your hairs sounds neat - that's how mine is turning also, mostly in the front. Keeping up with it does seem to be the ticket.
Thanks Nebraskim! I've done that too after purging something. The whites seem to have minds of their own don't they?
Thanks Aquamarine! I don't know if boatnecks do me any favors either, but I did wear a scarf with it both times. Would that be an option for you? It is great quality. I don't really use hair products much except for hair spray. Sometimes I use a little gel. I tried a root lifter and tossed it. I just couldn't take the feel of it! My hair is very thick.
Thanks Aliona! That's interesting that your hair didn't change in any way.
Thank you rachylou and Sheila!
Thanks Elizabeth P! I really wanted a navy scarf and didn't realize with how much I would wear it! Fingers crossed for you! I ordered the top in the fresh apricot color as well!
Thank you Angie!
Thanks shevia! It's funny you mention cuffing the pants... they have a button and strap to do just that! My hair also waves more further down. Then when it gets to a certain length it seemsthe weight of it pulls it down.
Thanks Sharan! I like your take on it! I think the top bothered me so much because I tucked it and it wasn't stiff enough to not be fussy and clingy. Interestingly the pants don't bother me when I wear them at home. Yes I did cut my hair myself!

The first outfit is stunning on you. I love the coral jacket over it--wow, what a great color combo! I think the second outfit is adorable, too, but here's my take: life is too short to wear clothes that you can't wait to rip off at the end of a day! I would set both pieces aside in a holding zone for donation. If you have a change of heart and want to try them again, perhaps with different other pieces, then give them another try. Otherwise, let them go. The haircut is cute. Did you literally do it yourself??

Both outfits are good. I think the second one would also work well if you cuffed the pants. My hair is as wavy/curly as ever if not more so now, but my wave starts down a bit so the very short parts are straighter. It is also temperamental and heavily weather reactive.

YLF---both outfits! I so wanted that striped BR top to work for me, but boat necks don't do me any favors, sigh. Very nice quality, though.

In my experience, grey hair has no body on its own. My hair used to be able to hold most any style. Now, if I don't keep up with the coloring, my hairstyle will always go flat on top. I *never* had this problem before the greys came in. You may have to switch up your hair products. I use a root lift until I can get to my hairdresser.

These are fantastic looks. I really like the salmon jacket; makes me wish I had not sent a similarly colored one I used to have to the charity shops a few years ago.

A few of my gray hairs are very very corkscrew curly (they remind me of the springs inside of a clicktop ballpoint pen). I pluck them out and leave the straight ones. The curly ones tend to break on their own, end up with splits, etc. I'm not sure why they are are weirdly textured. The straight ones are a bit coarser than my regular brown hair. Overall the gray is giving my hair that "mouse" color.

Fantastic outfits! Love the striped blouse especially. It's great alone and with the topper. So gorgeous! I am at peace with the crease so the wrinkles in the chinos don't bother me too much. Lightweight cotton tees are great for summer--that one seems like a nice fit. Maybe reserve it for weekends. As for the grey hairs--they totally change the texture of my hair and is making it coarser overall.

Could only get outfit pictures Monday and Friday this week.
Once I read Angie's description of the thought process behind her client Karen's spring/summer capsule refresher, then saw the lovely Karen in the BR striped pullover, I knew the pullover should be perfect for me if it fit. And it does! It came Friday evening and I wore it right away the next morning to run errands, then again on Monday to work which is pic#1-2. I received compliments on my lighter footwear on a different outfit post so I thought I would try it again with this outfit.

Pic#3-4 is Friday. I could not wait to get home so I could rip this outfit off! I couldn't take the bagging out of the pants or the flimsiness of the tee. When I wear these pants at home it does not bother me. It was a dark rainy day so I didn't wear what I had planned to. It was cold/hot off and on in the office all day so I was wearing a denim jacket on and off.

When I looked at Monday's pictures I thought my hair was getting a bit flat and straighter, which is strange because it was always wavy. I wonder if it is the whites/greys. They are taking over with much haste. So I gave myself a good chop job Thursday night and will probably experiment with it as I grow it out. I did a closeup of it in pic#5. Does anyone have experience with losing their waves? Was it connected to turning white/grey?
A big thank you to Angie, Karen and all the YLF'ers for your wisdom and inspiration! Thank you in advance for any input, suggestions and critiques you care to offer!
