Diane, thank you.

Word Lily, thanks A fellow square toe lover:) I never quite got over the square toe. Always thought they looked quite edgy. I refer to these ones as my school shoes ha.

Lisa I like the look of a more relaxed item falling below a more structured one. I think in some respects it's a no brainer to layer unstructured pieces but to layer unstructured and structured makes for very interesting combos. I actually think it's more about the proportions. Get those right and you are good to go ...he he I have spent way ore than 8 seconds on this lol. And thanks for the lovely compliment re the shoes. Please don't look up 'dag' or 'daggy', it means something yucky ha ha. It is a very Aussie word.

Shedev, thanks so much. Sophistication... I like.

Staysfit, thank you. What is your other HEWI?? The jacket is a very soft leather and very comfortable to wear. Some leathers are kind of thick and bulky and uncomfortable.

Blazer over skirt looks well-proportioned to me. I like the use of navy here too. I was thinking about the wearing of a tailored jacket over a top that hangs out below- and how that looks........because I did that too recently with a fitted blazer and fringed top. I liked it, but secretly wondered if that was the wrong pairing and if a top is going to hang down below, the jacket should be less tailored....if you know what I mean. (mine had a vent too) It's one of those fashion questions I have spent more than 8 seconds thinking about What are your thoughts on it? The shoes are cool - but I can't help but think that you are one of few who could pull them off without looking daggy. I know am going to use that word every chance I get They look great here.

This all works brilliantly Deb! I too like the proportions of the jacket with the skirt and the shoes are kind of cool!

Looking good Deb. Stay warm!

Thanks Maneera:). I love my boots but sometimes I just need a change and it's so cold pumps are not an option yet.

Brooklyn, try the jacket with a skirt and I will be interested to see what you think. I am hoping I get a bit more wear out of the blazer now. Most of my skirts are quite slim line. I don't think the jacket would work so well with a fuller skirt.

Lyn, I hear you in the scarves. At the office scarf and jacket are part of the outfit and don't get removed. Doesn't help we are on a very old and cold building. It has made me want to add to my scarf collection lol.

I understand how you needed to wear your scarf indoors today, my scarfs have become less an add-on and more an integral part of my outfits for added warmth this Winter.
I am not sure about the shoes, but I think they work with the bare leg and your outfit, because the overall impression is of someone who is obviously very thoughtful and stylish.
With pants on anyone else I might think 'daggy' ;)
I hope you don't think I am a weird lemming, but I found the split-back jumper at Myer last week for 50% off the sale $ and the last in my size, so it came home with me. I am looking to you for some styling ideas!

I think the shoes are a great updated 90s look, and a fun change. The jacket works well with the skirt, as does the blue top. It's interesting that you say the jacket seems to work better with a skirt than it does with pants. I have a similar style jacket that is also a bit of an orphan - I think I will have to try it out with a skirt!

Ive gotten really used to seeing you in boots, Deb! But I have to say that these lace ups look just as amazing ---- a welcome change, perhaps?

Love the navy and black scheme, as always. You look very polished and the blazer does work brilliantly with the proportions here. I'm a huge fan of his navy split back sweater....such a great length to wear with skirts.

Be rest assured----you look amazing!

Hi Ladies,

Had to go to work for a few hours this morning as I have moved my hours around this week to facilitate school drop off and pick up while DH is away on a retreat:)

It is still very cold here, and my office is even colder lol!

My outfit actually started with the shoes today. I woke up wanting to wear lace ups! These are by Diana Ferrari and I love them. I have always had a thing for lace ups with a square toe. This is the second pair I have owned (I wore the others to the ground in the 90's!!). But they don't get worn often enough. I seem to forget they are there :(

So... started with the shoes, added tights, Metalicus skirt and Navy Split back sweater. Pulled out the leather blazer which is also a bit of an orphan and really liked the proportions. I think that maybe this jacket works best with skirts rather than pants and that is why I haven't worn it much. During the cooler months I am in pants and leggings all the time.

I actually left the scarf and jacket on while in the office. Too cold to remove anything!!

Thanks for looking. What do you think re the jacket? Good length for skirts? And I hope my shoes aren't too 'daggy' (i.e. uncool, not trendy) lol.

xxx Deborah

ps. excuse my buffy hair, only three weeks in and I need a trim:(
