Echoing what others are saying - you look great! Interesting about the sleeve scrunchers. What a difference that makes! I do agree that the last outfit is much more casual, but it is what it is. You are so fit, and look great.

Gracie, you look wonderful in each of these outfits. What a difference the sleeves crunch makes in the first one! The last one looks fine in the photos, but maybe you warm gold tones in your top would go best with the warmer toned shorts in your second outfit.

These are all great outfits on you, Gracie, and very inspiring to me. What a difference a scrunch makes in outfit 1--that's an eye-opening illustration as well as a super-fab outfit on you.

I love your sexy date night outfit. Not only the bared shoulders, but the fit of the shorts is so flattering--you look like a million bucks.

I really like #3. I thought the shorts were gray-blue, or slate blue, and it looks like the tee print has a little of that color in it. So I do not see any clashing on my screen, and I like black with blue. I think this is a great casual outfit with a little edge, lent by the tee's being sleeveless, black, and a dark rocker-looking print.

I don't think you're looking too sweet in recent posts. Maybe you feel that way because of the exposed skin in shorts and skirts? But you have a little edge to your style in all of these, to my eye.

eta: oh, and I think I have a pair of those sleeve scrunchers, somewhere. Mine are (were?) kind of like stretchy metal watch-bands (without the watch).

I think all three outfits work splendidly. The scrunch does make a big difference with the jacket. The date night outfit is terrific but I like the third outfit also - maybe you are missing the light neutral that looks so good on you, but the pieces are all interesting and you probably made a great impression on the mailman!

Thank for all ladies for your thoughtful comments -

choulette22, I'm humbled that you find me an inspiration, I feel I'm just dabbling, playing and learning.

Aida, the bluish-gray shorts were work for a half-day of work, casual Friday. I'm self-employed, work alone and I think only the mailman saw this outfit that day :)

I will try all your suggestions about re-mixing the shorts, and decide whether to keep them.

jasmine, the jacket's brand is "Chili Pepper," I think I got it at Macy's a few years back. This one always stays in my office for AC protection since it seems to go with everything.

Sandals worn with the white shorts are Nine West "Punchy". I loved this style so much that I also have them in denim and yellow. I see they have black ones at 6pm.com and some on ebay, but mine are either leather or textile (denim) uppers.

I love the first two looks, and think the third looks fine too (like everyone else, I don't see any color clashing at all). The only thing that sprang into my mind re the third outfit was that the shorts might work even better with a top that is less fitted around the waist, like the top in the second outfit. But take that with a grain of salt, it is probably just a reflection of my current obsession with fluid fit!

First off, I have to say you have amazing arms and look SO good in sleeveless tops! Really jealous.

I agree the scrunched sleeve looks great! I used to use hair elastics to keep my sleeves up (you have to make at least a small cuff to keep it hidden though) and it worked well but I found it kind of painful after a while. Wish I had a better solution - the shape of my forearms and the fact that they are thin in proportion to the rest of me means sleeves almost never stay scrunched on me.

I don't see anything clashing in the third outfit either.

Gracie, I like all three outfits (and second Viva on the muscle tone
comment )
Yay to sleeve scrunching! It is really amazing what difference they make. Mine also does not stay put all day but I just scrunch them again :-)
Love the shoes in #2 especially. Like Aida I was trying to buy similar for myself but they all do not fit right in the top strap - I guess my wider forefeet require wider straps than those...
As for #3: I don't think these shorts clash with the top but I would prefer this top with the white shorts from #2 - I think they would look great together!

All three outfits look great to me! Scrunched sleeves definitely helps, I push all mine up without even thinking now. Your date night outfit lovely, you look super in the light colors. And those sandals! I had wanted a pair like that this year but never came across the right ones, alas. I like the third outfit too, it's just much more casual. What was it worn for? If it's a weekend outfit it looks perfectly fine (I like the tomboy+bling vibe!), if it was for work perhaps you just need a structured jacket over the top. I see no color clash, but then I mix my metals and wear gold with gray plenty.

I find all of your WIWs inspirational and totally love your style. I agree with Suz, the third outfit is just more casual, but there is certainly nothing wrong with it. I also love tops with that diagonal shoulder cut as in your second outfit, because I too work out 6 days a week to "keep the canvas in good shape," as you said (love that expression!). All those weights do keep those arms and shoulders toned, so why not show them, right?

I like all these outfits! The third one looks okay to me because, like kellygirl, the shorts read as blue-ish, not grey, on my computer. I think the sandals and graphic print make the outfit fun and interesting. Amazing what a difference scrunching the sleeves makes on outfit#1, and I agree that bare shoulders adds some sexiness to #2.

TylerAnne, thank you for your feedback, I think you're right about trying both pieces with different pairings. The shorts are "on probation" – if I find a top that makes them "sing" I'll keep them, otherwise I'll cull them even though they fit me well and are very comfortable.

Viva, thanks for your compliments, I "work" at my hair and workout often to keep "the canvas" in good shape, lol. The skirts is from Target (Mossimo), I bought it a couple of months ago. And yes, I guess the third outfit was quickly put together without a lot of filtering, it does look a bit blah to me.

First off .... fantastic hair, footwear, and muscle tone in all photos. Just have to say that.

Now, I really like all three outfits. Love the first with the jacket scrunched -- it's amazing what a difference that makes! Where is that skirt from? The print is fantastic.

The date night outfit is really pretty and special. I love it on you, and you have great shoulders to show off.

I also like the last outfit -- but it doesn't really have that special "something" that the first two pics have (to me, it's the jacket and the shoulder-less top). I think the third outfit is fine, it just reads more casual and expected. The cut of the top is really simple and the shorts are very neutral. I think TylerAnne is right that together, they feel very casual -- and it's a great casual outfit, but each piece could probably be lifted if paired with something less basic.

I really love the first two! I agree with your analysis that the third one isn't working quite as well. My instinct is that the top and shorts are both too casual to read as well together as your other outfits. Perhaps matching the top with slightly dressier bottoms (or the shorts with a dressier top) will help you feel better about it?

I’m doing well meeting my challenge of wearing skirts, shorts and white bottoms to get the most wears our of my summer items.

First photo is an outfit repeat but shows what a difference scrunching sleeves makes. To me, it defrumpified this look making it thinner and lighter by adding structure *Angie is so right.* They used to sell elastic bands to keep sleeves up, I wonder if anybody remembers those... I think I’ll make a pair and try them out, maybe black elastic with velcro.

Second photo is my “sexy” Date outfit. Went with DH to a nice, semi-casual restaurant on Saturday. The top, from Express, has a tiny-hearts print and the sexiness, to me, comes from the exposed shoulders. That one detail is enough for me to feel sexy, DH liked it In looking at my recent posts I find myself always looking sweet and feminine – no hard edges – which is fine with me but makes me wonder if my subtle “edge” will come back with fall clothing – skinnies, booties, leather jackets... I hope so!

Third photo is another shorts outfit and my question is – it doesn’t seem to be working with the top... is it the shade of gray that might be clashing?... because the bling on the top is more gold?

Comments, critiques all welcome, thank you for reading!
