The zippered one should work. I've been having this trouble with my "regular" sweaters, too. They don't do the trick, even rolled under as Sveta suggests, because they still "grip in" making a waist where you want boxy.

Hmm, not sure I have a shorter sweater, but I do have one with zippers that I can try. And I will have to keep my eyes open for a shorter one. Thanks for the feedback, I sensed something wasn't quite right, but wasn't sure what.

Angie nailed it as usual! You can try to shorten the sweater by folding the hem inside - sometimes I do it with my Tippi sweaters to make them shorter. The welted hem holds it up.

Ah, I did wonder about the proportions too. I'm glad Angie chimed in first. I wondered about the sweater length too.

You are almost there. Your sweater is a little long for the look. Do you have a shorter one? And preferably a style that does not taper at the hem.

i've been wanting to try this since i saw these pictures earlier this year on the la catch site. then angie documented how to do it, and so here's my work version. i wasn't thrilled with it, but other than it being a little dark, i think white booties would have worked better, but alas, don't own any. what do you think? what would i do differently to make this better?
