But maybe what bothers you is due to the fontal shape of the shoe? It does break the long line, if long line is what you are going for. Personally I find these shoes lovely, they add interest to the outfit. Great autumnal colors in #1, the peeks of skin at the knee, and arms look fab (and help lighten the look just the right amount). LOVE the sequined top in #2, though I wouldn't call it tunic (I think it's just long). I don't see any shortening with that top, and actually it draws the eyes vertically quite nicely when paired with the dark pants. Have you tried it with a cropped jacket? That could also break the torso a bit but still give length. You can see the jean jacket is getting lots of wear! Also, I swear my boobs were not white IRL. </p> <p>Next, what I wore to the Saturday night "Speakeasy," a late night event where jazz musicians improvised to the writers' selections. The sequin top was thrifted for $8. I must say, I probably would never have tried something like this at full price. I don't mind the waist surrender at all, but I do think with my relatively long torso, tunic type tops are generally a bit stumpifying. What could I do to improve this? Add higher heels, I suspect; these are just kitten heels but unfortunately, they were all I had that was weather appropriate on the occasion. You all know about my lack of shoes (soon to be rectified, I hope!) </p> <p>Thanks for looking and for your thoughts! </p>
