They are from different years and are 3 different sizes (oddly enough, the largest size pair is also the tightest.). The size inconsistency drives me nuts, but I loooove the denim Vince uses. So velvety soft but not very stretchy. I'm really pleased with my new sweater but sad that I won't have many more chances to wear it until spring. </p> <p>Sharan, I'm not sure how I'd tackle a winter version. A textured pattern would be nice but things like cables and seed stitch tend to make the fabric thicker and stiffer, which would fight with the drape. So I think a plainer stitch in a looser gauge would probably be the way to go. The textured pattern is great. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-lady-bat-new-handknit-sweater#post-1385509 Wed, 29 Oct 2014 16:51:10 +0000 Diana 1385509@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>The weather warmed up today&nbsp;so I finally got to wear this batwing mesh top I finished knitting a couple of weeks ago.&nbsp; </p> <p>The sweater is basically shaped like a big trapezoid with openings for arms and neck, with some ribbing to draw it in at the waist and arm openings. &nbsp;This is a good example of the type of welted top that works for me - the welt is small and wide enough that it sits on my hips rather than riding up to my natural waist.&nbsp; I used a shiny silk yarn and I really like how this turned out. &nbsp;(Actually I am contemplating knitting a second one in a solid or textured, non-holey pattern so I can wear it in colder weather.) &nbsp;</p> <p>I wanted to let the sweater be the star here so I paired it with my favorite blue skinnies and black moto boots.
