He's actually more cream with chocolate, but the overall impression is a taupey one (apart from his blue eyes). And he certainly "goes with" taupe. But I've forgotten to take photos some of the days this week, so hopefully it'll balance out), the weather got cold again. So of course I wanted to give my cashmere/merino flannel trousers another outing (softest things *ever*). I'd also been browsing Petfinder, and come across the cat that I'm adopting as soon as I get back from my trip next month (the rescue group and the cat's foster mom are very understanding, luckily for me), although I didn't know that yet (I got to meet her on Tuesday).&nbsp;For those who don't visit the off-topic section, said kitty is beautiful a blend of creams and&nbsp;beiges and taupes and browns (I'm attaching her photo here for reference, sorry to those who have already seen it!). Since my trousers are taupe, I reached for this champagne silk blouse to add on top. But it was cold, so I layered a white angora/cotton sweater underneath. I was quite pleased with the final result, although I forgot to accessorise it&nbsp;(as soon as I'm dressed, Thistle expects to be taken out on her morning walk, and she's so patient that I always indulge her, so my accessories get left out). I waited too long to take photos, hence the awkward lighting again. The colours are truest in the detail shot.</p> <p>Oh, and then I ruined the calm, soothing colour palette by adding pink socks! I'd recently finished knitting them, in honour of spring (I actually dyed the yarn too; turns out you can permanently dye wool yarn just using Koolaid!),&nbsp;and they had just dried, so&nbsp;I couldn't resist pulling them on. hehe</p> <p>For outerwear, it was cold enough that I needed to pull my heavy winter coat back out. I could have continued the colour theme with my beige one, but I'd worn that recently and not this blue one, so it came out instead. ;)&nbsp;And then I managed to pop off two buttons while buttoning it, so I'll be mending that soon. Honestly, for a vintage coat, I'm amazed at the perfect condition of the fabric, and sewing a button back on now and then is a small price to pay for all of the warmth it's given me during a very chilly winter. And I gave my mittens one last hurrah as well (I assume so, at least!). The brown boots are the easiest pair of my 'snow boots' to pair with these trousers, so they were a no brainer.</p> <p>Comments, criticisms, suggestions, etc. always welcome! </p>
