You've corroborated all of my major concerns about that half-d'orsay style, and have me leaning back towards a pair Sevilla Smith boots instead. I have a strong aversion to shoes that I have to grip with my forefoot -- don't even like Birk Arizonas or any slide sandals. I have a pair of slide sandals and a pair of espadrilles from last summer that I'm on the fence about keeping because they just aren't good for walking. They were handmade and expensive and I feel good about purchasing them. I love how unique they are. They've never given me blisters or been aggressively uncomfortable, and I've worn them about 25 times.</p> <p>At the same time, I'd never pick them for a walking-heavy day and my feet are always a bit tired at the end of a day wearing them.
