Sweater knit, so they're not as tight as smooth tights, with some texture. They're a lot warmer than smooth tights without having to wear actual leggings. The color selection tends to refresh every fall; I get the most use out of the light gray and taupe ones.</p> <p>Muff! I have several and never thought to take one on my walk. Mittens help a lot but my hands still get cold. My instinct is to "pop" one foot next to the other like a dancer, but in that decade they did more of a 4th or 5th position! I've been growing out my hair and it's about where I want to stop. Unfortunately I had a major shed last year so I'll be re-growing the thickness for 3-4 more years, ugh. I do wear tall boots with these, if I'm going out and it's cold or wet. Mid calf brown or black Ecco "Rise" boots are my usual, since the sole is more like an athletic shoe. Sometimes I feel like a Cossack! When going to church I tend to wear pumps or heeled boots, depending on the outfit and again the weather. In #8 I had a beret under that scarf, but it didn't fit over both ears, LOL. I got knitted mittens for Christmas, to layer over gloves for walking. I made the dress in #16 from two different c. 1940 patterns, one for the skirt and one for the bodice. An experiment (and a LOT of work due to the unbalanced plaid) but I'm very happy with it.</p> <p>The jeans in #9 are from American Eagle. They're supposed to be bootcut but in my size are basically straight leg, which I like. I hate it when grading up makes a slim bootcut into a sloppy one! The tee is from Lands' End. I sized down to XS to get a slimmer fit under the arms; if a shirt is too wide in the body, it tends to pooch when tucked. I have it in both white and pink. There are more than I thought, so I will break this up into a couple posts. </p> <p>1-2: Dark red cardigan, warm pink short sleeve blouse, thyme green corduroy skirt. I adore this tonal variation of pink and green!</p> <p>3-4. More pink and green: Warm coral cardigan and light green tweed skirt. The cardigan looks fully orange due to the lighting.</p> <p>5-7: Red cropped sweater and navy corduroy skirt. Showing off the Mukluks I wear over tights when working at home; I have four pair in different colors and patterns.</p> <p>8: Bonus, bundled up for my daily walk. It was particularly cold that day. The olive bomber jacket was a Poshmark find perfect with poofy skirts.</p> <p>9: Jeans and sweater for choir rehearsal. These saddle shoes are surprisingly comfortable.</p> <p>10-12: Good hair day for church. Medium blue cardigan and burnt orange quilted velvet skirt. Navy dress coat was another Poshmark find; the skirt is a full circle.</p> <p>13: Feeling springy with periwnkle cardigan and medium green wool skirt.</p> <p>14-15: Forgot to take pictures until mid-afternoon, after my walk. Much warmer this day so I shed the cardigan and I don't remember what color it was! Navy skirt with white tee underneath. </p> <p>16-17: New green and black flannel shirt dress. The skirt and back yoke are cut on the bias. It's a pretty decent quality flannel, 100% cotton and fairly thick. </p>
