It's great to see a WIW post from you. These all look really lovely. You have some gorgeous jackets and oooh lala...those scarves are to die for.

Angie's suggestions for modernizing #2 have me curious. I'd love to see a reprise of that outfit in particular.

I love #4 and #5. Maybe try the white blouse with the #3 jacket and pants and add a long pendant? I also love the colors in #2 and would love to see it "Angie-fied". Actually, all these colors look good.

You look great in earthy tones and #5 is my favourite! I also like the length of those trousers :)

#4 is lovely too. Casual in a more arty way.

I really like the colours in #2! This outfit will look better if you inject a little more "modern" into it. The trousers seem short for heels - which is the first step. Also, try tying your scarf against your neck instead of around the collar. I'm aslo thinking that the best way to wear that jacket is buttoned up sans the button down, but with the scarf. I hope that makes sense!

Great to see you post!

I'm really loving the colour of the jacket and scarf in #2 on you. Vivid and happy! I also love #5. Interesting that you seem able to wear both the pink/reds and the orange extremely well, you lucky woman! Love the scarf in #4, too.

Your daughter gave you some lovely gifts!

Still loving those new glasses!!

Wow, you have a great assortment of pants! (I'm jealous) I like your hair, earrings and glasses together. It all gives your classic looks some great Euro edge. The colors and neutrals you chose look really nice with your hair. I love your use of scarves, too. These are great looks for a "second in command". Well done!

These are outfits I wore the last week. We were off on Monday, so the first is really from the week before. I'm trying to stay warm, also challenged myself to a "classic" look this week. Not sure how that came out, but I was warm and every outfit made me feel put together, non-fussy (didn't have to fret about wrinkles, shifting garments, etc.), and professional-leader-looking for my office (3 person office where I am second-in-charge, coming into a busier-meet-the-public season.)

I have recently purged my slacks, keeping only a couple of best pairs of each of black, black/white dobby weave, brown, and gray.

#1 - matching purple turtle neck and boiled wool type sweater. I like the metal zipper. The sleeves of the sweater are a smidge too wide and short, but otherwise, I feel a soft but tailored look.

#2 - my Pendleton wool jacket which has a gathered peplum in the back, but not frilly looking. I did take in and lengthen the sleeves on this jacket. Worn with white blouse, silk scarf received as gift from my daughter. I might tie this as a bow next time. Black Naturalizer shooties.

#3 - Thin black wool-blend turtleneck with ruffly sleeve cuffs, and a 3/4 sleeve zip up cardigan. I like this cardigan because it is heavy, but a smooth knit, and fairly close-fitting. Black Born oxfords (I think of these as my Euro shoes.)

#4 - Gold blouse, gray sweater with short sleeves. The scarf is the only item I have bought in 2012 so far. I saw it on clearance at Penney's when I took back a gift after Christmas. I like it because the gray and burgundy play down the mustard of the blouse, which isn't my best color. I forgot to take this photo until after I had put on my snow boots.

#5 - Brown herringbone trousers, cream shirt, and taupe-brown cashmere cardigan also a Christmas gift from my daughter (LOVE! I have another one from this brand that is a couple years old and still looks like brand new after many wearings). The scarf helped fill the scoop neck of the top and add color. Brown Born oxfords.

Always welcoming comments and suggestions for improvements! Thanks for looking!
