Finally have an outfit post of my own to share. I’ve really been trying to narrow down and refine my personal style in this phase of my life. I don’t have the energy or the occasion, at 32 in the midst of a pandemic, to wear the high heels and uncomfortable outfits I enjoyed through many years of experimenting with fashion.&nbsp;But I also don’t have to wear anything that I don’t enjoy anymore -&nbsp;I no longer need to dress for a job because I work from home as an artist and do childcare.&nbsp;</p> <div><br /></div><div>I spent some years in an office job with a professional dress code, and then more years working in organic food with casual dress codes where I worried about temperature and safety of outfits. For example, I was frequently freezing at work, and now I can’t stand wearing bulky layered outfits because I had to for so long. I needed to be able to stand in my shoes for eight hours at a time, and that restricted my style. It’s been two years since I left to start freelancing, and I’ve only just now weeded out the remainder of my outfits from my “old life” - I didn’t realize how much I would want a new style, since technically I was allowed to wear practically whatever I wanted to work.&nbsp;<div><div><br /></div><div>Right now I’m calling my style “art teacher off duty.” I love prints and color and being comfortable, but I also love some traditional figure-flattery elements.&nbsp;I’ve recently warmed up to wide leg crop jeans after years of wearing only skinnies, so these are my new (to me) Levi’s. They’re also one of the few pairs of pants that fit comfortably at this point in quarantine! Please don’t mind the messy hair or the spotty mirror (from toddler fingers). This was worn around the house on our rainy Sunday. Funny side note, we actually had a scare with a rabid bat bite two summers ago and two of my partners and I all had to get the rabies protocol.
